Amanda is an amazing person and attorney. She could very well be the best you can get. I've had a high conflict divorce/custody battle and she really went to bat for me. It's hard for me to describe the degree of positive impact she has had on me and my children's life.

God send!
This was one of the most stressful times of my life and my main goal was protecting my children from a father who never had any type of pattern of involvement with our children. He also had mental illness in which I had to hire a PRE to investigate both of us to see which parent would be best for our children. Amanda was my lawyer and she was great in guiding me and fighting for me and my girls. Just know in choosing Gasper Law Group/Amanda that they are very capable of doing an effective job. She fought hard! I know that God put her there for a reason and it was purposeful. Both of us will look at things in a different light after this case.

Amanda Musselwhite was my protector and champion during a challenging time
Once divorce becomes a reality your whole life is turned upside down, not knowing which way is up as you try to navigate the waters. You start with interviewing lawyers. Some lawyers view divorce simply as a business transaction. They’re not terribly interested in the human side of things. Amanda took the time needed to understand the psychology of my situation and how I was feeling about each individual aspect of my divorce in order to achieve the results that were in my family’s best interest. Amanda stepped in halfway through my case and took all the extra time needed to acquaint herself with my situation. One of the things I appreciated most about Amanda was being able to communicate with her to check my strategy for dealing with a very emotional and stressful situation at most anytime. She responded after normal business hours and on weekends. She never made me feel like I was a burden. Many times she was able to empathize and help me see my way through a situation logically, when I felt as though I was trapped in an emotional whirlwind. I appreciated Amanda’s ability to speak to doing the right and ethical thing no matter what the other side does. Because of this she was instrumental in helping me gain the skills and tools I needed to not just survive but transition out of an extraordinary difficult period and still hold my head high. Amanda was more than just a friendly voice during a stressful time. I felt like she was my friend, protector and champion. The reassurance of an attorney like Amanda. who knows how to navigate the waters, was a heavy burden lifted.

Not Helpful at All
Roughly 6 months ago I was looking around for a lawyer to assist me in a child custody case and was on a small budget when I came upon the Gasper Law Group in Colorado Springs. I had met with Amanda and decided that while it would hurt me financially to hire a lawyer, in the end, I may come out of this hearing on a positive note. My ex was doing everything she could to keep my kids from me as well as take as much money from me as possible so she wouldn't have to work, and after first meeting with Amanda, I thought she would be aggressive and helpful - at the very least, try to help me retain my basic rights as a father. Needless to say that Amanda and her staff did very little outside of filing some very basic forms with the court. Often it would take weeks for her or her staff to respond to my phone calls and emails, and much of the case progression such as dates and timelines I had to hear from either my ex or my ex's lawyer - NOT my own attorney. I felt like she didn't attempt to come to an agreement during required mediation at all. Also, in the two times we met face to face, much of the conversation we spoke of was regarding topics OTHER than my case (such as her personal life) - to which I was no doubt charged for. In any case, very little was done to represent me and after being $7000 in debt and nothing to show for it, I felt as though my attorney was doing what she could to avoid resolution and proceed to a hearing which would ultimately cost more money. I told her I didn't have the money to go to court and that we had to reach an amicable settlement out of court. Her response was that my ex was going to get everything she asked for and if I didn't have more money to make it to trial, there was no point in continuing. Out of money, options, and patience, I let her go and was forced to represent myself. Obviously this isn't a smart idea and I learned firsthand of the parental prejudices in the judicial system we hear so much about. I lost all rights to my kids - EVERYTHING - and was even forced to pay MORE money. My wife now gets nearly $3000 a month from me (a military member on a small budget) , and I feel that Amanda and her staff really let me down. I feel like I threw away so much money and received absolutely nothing in return. I wouldn't recommend this lawyer.

Response from Amanda Musselwhite February 22, 2017
I have reviewed my files and orders on the cases issued after I have withdrawn. I have not found a case in which my former client lost parental rights, however I would be more than willing to discuss your case and the outcome with you, as well as future planning to modify things. While I do occasionally relay personal experiences in discussing certain standards for parenting time restrictions, I do not charge my clients for any time spend on matters that are not related to their case. I make every effort to maintain contact with my clients and respond in a timely manner. Please contact me to discuss any issues you may have with my representation.
