I needed a lawyer, never had dealt with the courts or anything related and didn't know where to start looking. I found Steve via referral from another lawyer who no longer works in the Colorado Springs area. He gave Steve highest marks, so I gave Steve a shot. Was I lucky or what? Steve gave me ...honest, thoughtful advice from the beginning. He told me the alternatives and the costs and the likelihood of success. It is very apparent that his previous experience makes him extremely knowledgeable about specifically the courts in El Paso county. I give him highest marks.

I hired Steve after my wife and I were arguing, and my neighbors called the police. I had thrown my cell phone on the ground out of frustration, but I hadn't laid a finger on her. Still, enormously stupid. I was arrested for breaking my phone for "criminal mischief". I saw the judge, bonded out, and... immediately began looking for an attorney. Steve was the first one I met with, but immediately liked him. He put me at ease right away by explaining what would really happen, not what could happen, worst case. He told me a number of different scenarios, but made it clear, he couldn't tell me what the outcome would be until he saw the police reports, I was impressed that he didn't try to promise me the moon. I had already made an appointment with a few other attorneys, and decided I would meet with everyone first, before deciding who to hire. I met with three other local attorneys, and truthfully, none held a candle to Steve. They may do a fine job, but they lacked the personality and ability to communicate, something Steve had in spades. I went back that same day and hired Steve. He charged me a flat fee which was in line with the other quotes I received, but he gave me a discount for paying the whole fee rather than doing a payment plan. The next day I went to work, and because of my employers policy, I had to tell them about the arrest. When I did, I was suspended while they did their investigation. The told me it would be at least a month before they got the reports from the police. I called Steve and by the end of the day, he had gotten the police reports to my employer. We hadn't even been to court, but he called the DA and explained the situation, and they got him the reports. The next week, we went to court and it was apparent I had made the right decision. He had a great rapport with everyone. The DA's spoke with him as if they were old friends, and they listened to what he had to say. The judge's clerks were asking about his kids, and they knew about his family life, then when the judge came in, he called Steve first, and they had a friendly banter. The judge was joking with him in court in front of everyone. Steve delivered the exact offer he told me he thought we could get, a pre-plea investigation. He guided me through that process by making the appointments for me, meeting with me before each appointment, following up with the counselor, and when we got the report 42 days before court, he got the DA and the judge to add my case on early, despite already having other cases, Steve knew how important this was to me and accommodated me. The whole process took 27 days from start to finish. We went to court and the DA filed a motion to dismiss the case, two days before thanksgiving. When we were leaving, the judge told Steve to tell his wife "hi" and have a great thanksgiving. Steve is the real deal, its obvious he's well respected by everyone involved in the process, and its obvious why he is in high demand. I couldn't be more grateful. My case was dismissed before my job even finished their investigation, which ended when I gave them a copy of the motion to dismiss. I was immediately reinstated at my job. Steve delivered even more than I thought was possible. Despite being a negative experience because of finding myself in this process, Steve was a shining light. I would glowingly recommend him to anyone who would listen. I'm so glad I found him, I don't believe anyone else could have done what he did for me.

I should start off by saying, I've never been in trouble before, but I made a horrible mistake and got in a car when I shouldn't have. I thought the DA's office would consider my past and I could take care of the problem myself. However, when I went to my first court date and sat down in a little off...ice, alone with a DA, I felt powerless and bullied, it became apparent that I needed someone on my side, at least to guide me through the case. When I sat down with him and explained my case, he walked me through the process, both what could happen to my license and what could happen at court. When I asked him what would happen to me, he made no guarantees, but told me different possible outcomes that could happen, this was in contrast to the 2 other attorneys I met with, both guaranteed me outcomes, but surprisingly the both promised different outcomes, but sounded to good to be true. Steve said he couldn't do that, he hadn't seen the police reports and would need to read those before telling me what the likely outcome was. I immediately could tell I could trust him, he wasn't going to make me promises that sounded to good to be true so I'd hire him, but told me the truth from the beginning. His price seemed very reasonable and after talking to me wife, I hired him. Throughout my case, I always knew what was happening. I could always log onto his computer system to see all of the documents filed, police reports, court dates and emails. My calls were always returned. The one phone call that he didn't return the same day, he was in trial on another case and had his paralegal Emily call me with the answer. Emily told me Steve was in trial and she had asked him my question, but told me he'd call me in the morning, to make sure my question was answered. Sure enough, first thing in the morning Steve called and apologized for taking so long to get back to me. It hasn't even been a day and he had already answered me. The entire experience was better than I thought it would be. The outcome was better than I expected and I was treated with respect throughout. Steve becomes your friend during the case, but what impressed me the most and caused me to write this was that my case ended in March. This past week I got an email from him checking in on me and making sure I didn't have any questions and everything I needed to do was getting done. Steve really exceeded my expectations, he goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend Steve, it's obvious to me that he's elite in his field, it's really the little things that make the difference. Thank you Steve.

Steve got my case dismissed before it was even in court. I was arrested, booked into jail and bonded out. They set my first court date for two weeks after I bonded out, and after meeting with and researching several attorneys, I hired Steve. He had ideas and thought of things no one else did, and fro...m the day I hired him, to my first court date, he had 10 days. He met with the DA, scheduled a polygraph and accompanied me to it, he and an investigator meet with all the witnesses and put together a very good defense. When he and I met with the DA the second time, two days before court, the DA agreed not to file any charges, the case was dismissed. Steve's one of those attorneys that you normally don't find in my experience. He did everything he said he would and I felt like he actually cared about me. I would never hire anyone else.
