Steven Tighe Rodemer

To put it bluntly, Steve saved my life. There really are no words to adequately express my gratitude to Steve and his incredible staff. So, to give this review teeth, I think you first need to know the seriousness of the charges. I was falsely and deliberately accused of horrible and unthinkable acts.... Charged with attempted murder in the 1st degree and 1st degree assault with a deadly weapon. Never having been in any kind of trouble, my knowledge of the legal system was limited and naive at best. I honestly thought they would investigate and it would all be over in a few days. I was wrong. The first lawyer I hired wanted to “just make a deal” for 16-48 years in a state prison and collect his fee. The D.A. at Jefferson County...well let's just say I had completely lost my faith in the great American legal system. After I fired my first lawyer and refused to make a deal and admit guilt to something I did not do, my family and I started searching for a lawyer outside of Jefferson county. We found Steve Rodemer! From our first meeting he made me feel comfortable. I felt like I was with a Rugby buddy or sitting with my brother. I no longer felt like a case number or a file. Steve reminded me of the beauty of the American legal system. I am innocent until proven guilty. His confidence gave me confidence and more importantly, hope. Steve did more in the first week after taking my case then my previous lawyer did in the whole year of his so called representation of me. Steve and his staff conducted a full and thorough investigation of everything and everyone, including me. He filed multiple motions on my behalf. He interviewed potential expert witnesses. Hell, he probably could have been his own expert witness, with his exceptional understanding of forensics. At every pre-trial hearing I felt more and more confident having Steve standing next to me. I actually felt like I was being represented, like I actually had a voice In the system. Steve made only one promise - “I will fight all the way” and he did! The way Steve interacted with my children and I, made us feel like he was personally vested in our family and our future. Steve’s actions, his speech, his emotions, it all made us feel like he wasn't just fighting for his client, but fighting for a member of his family. One of his more impressive qualities is his quick thinking and flexibility, which he exhibited during trial quite effectively. The way Steve handled himself at the trial was professional and yet so human. His interaction with the judge, the jury and the prosecution was amazing to watch, considering he had very little knowledge of the inner workings of Jefferson County courts. In the end, thanks to Steve and months of hard work, he and his team put in, the jury came back with a full acquittal, NOT GUILTY on all charges. When I tried to thank him, he just looked at me with that sideways grin of his and said - “I knew you were innocent, I just had to show them that...” Well Steve showed them! He executed his duties as my advocate with honor, class, dignity and professionalism. I owe Steve Rodemer a debt of gratitude I can never repay. Thank you Steve, Emily, Andy and the rest of your amazing staff!

I should start off by saying, I've never been in trouble before, but I made a horrible mistake and got in a car when I shouldn't have. I thought the DA's office would consider my past and I could take care of the problem myself. However, when I went to my first court date and sat down in a little off...ice, alone with a DA, I felt powerless and bullied, it became apparent that I needed someone on my side, at least to guide me through the case. I called about 6 attorney's, all of whom claim to specialize in DUI. 4 of them called me back, and I ended up meeting with 3 of them. One attorney wanted $9,000.00, which I thought was very high. I ended up meeting with Steve last, but after talking to the other 2 attorneys, Steve was a breath of fresh air. When I got to Steve's office, he was meeting with another client, but when they came out, I overhead Steve ask the gentleman how a recent family vacation went. I was struck by the fact that he knew details about this man's life like that, I got the impression that he wasn't trying to rush the guy out the door to get on with his next appointment, but rather, he was taking the time to learn about his clients life. When I sat down with him and explained my case, he walked me through the process, both what could happen to my license and what could happen at court. When I asked him what would happen to me, he made no guarantees, but told me different possible outcomes that could happen, this was in contrast to the 2 other attorneys I met with, both guaranteed me outcomes, but surprisingly the both promised different outcomes, but sounded to good to be true. Steve said he couldn't do that, he hadn't seen the police reports and would need to read those before telling me what the likely outcome was. I immediately could tell I could trust him, he wasn't going to make me promises that sounded to good to be true so I'd hire him, but told me the truth from the beginning. His price seemed very reasonable and after talking to me wife, I hired him. Throughout my case, I always knew what was happening. I could always log onto his computer system to see all of the documents filed, police reports, court dates and emails. My calls were always returned. The one phone call that he didn't return the same day, he was in trial on another case and had his paralegal Emily call me with the answer. Emily told me Steve was in trial and she had asked him my question, but told me he'd call me in the morning, to make sure my question was answered. Sure enough, first thing in the morning Steve called and apologized for taking so long to get back to me. It hasn't even been a day and he had already answered me. The entire experience was better than I thought it would be. The outcome was better than I expected and I was treated with respect throughout. Steve becomes your friend during the case, but what impressed me the most and caused me to write this was that my case ended in March. This past week I got an email from him checking in on me and making sure I didn't have any questions and everything I needed to do was getting done. Steve really exceeded my expectations, he goes above and beyond. I would highly recommend Steve, it's obvious to me that he's elite in his field, it's really the little things that make the difference. Thank you Steve.

Steve got my case dismissed before it was even in court. I was arrested, booked into jail and bonded out. They set my first court date for two weeks after I bonded out, and after meeting with and researching several attorneys, I hired Steve. He had ideas and thought of things no one else did, and fro...m the day I hired him, to my first court date, he had 10 days. He met with the DA, scheduled a polygraph and accompanied me to it, he and an investigator meet with all the witnesses and put together a very good defense. When he and I met with the DA the second time, two days before court, the DA agreed not to file any charges, the case was dismissed. Steve's one of those attorneys that you normally don't find in my experience. He did everything he said he would and I felt like he actually cared about me. I would never hire anyone else.

I was charged with a DUI while driving home from a study group, where I had a glass of wine. The cop said he smelled alcohol and wanted me to do an alcohol test. I was obviously upset, and the cop said I wasn't cooperating, so gave me a refusal. I met with 6 attorneys over two days. After meeting Ste...ve, I knew instantly that he was who I should hire. First of all, and this may be trivial, but when I would mention to other attorneys who I was meeting with, they all bad mouthed each other. Except for Steve, it was clear he was confident, and not insecure. I know that's not a big deal, but it was something I picked up on. After I hired Steve, his investigator contacted everyone at my study group, who all confirmed I had only had one glass of wine. Steve won my DMV hearing, so I kept my license, and happily, my case was dismissed yesterday. Steve is kind and patient, but more than anything, he really knows what he's doing and is very smart. I would really recommend Steve. He did a great job for me.
