He Will Charge Retainer and Will Not Represent You

I payed this attorney $5,000 for retainer, but found out from a court clerk that he never file with the court that he's represting me. When confronted, he reimbussed me less than $4,000 back.

Awesome Attorney

I recommend Dan to anyone. He is very honest and gives you the good/bad/and ugly as far as what to expect and what can happen. He is very interested in settling his cases and NOT just trying to get your money. He understands the court process as well as the fact that if you have children you and the ...other parent have to deal with each other for a long time. I had 3 different attorney's before Dan and one was all about $$ $30,000 and still not at final orders, another was too afraid of opposing counsel and wanted me to agree to things I shouldn't (Dan is not afraid), and the last one was so disorganized it was terrible. Dan was great, aggressive when needing to be, honest, knew my case, and got the best possible solution for my children. These negative reviews I can only think they must e crazy or the type of people who no matter what are never going to be happy. Dan is AWESOME!!!

Excellent Lawyer

Dan is a smart, practical attorney. He did not make promises he couldn't keep. He kept me apprised of all matters involving my divorce and made certain that we made decisions that were best from cost/benefit analysis. I highly recommend him.

Unprofessional, Incompetent and Dishonest

I also had a very bad experience with Dan. I wish I would have done my homework before hiring him to represent me in my divorce. By the time I finally figured out how bad he really was, I had already paid him more than $15,000 and I didn't have the resources to drop him and start over again with so...meone else. I completely agree with the comments from one of the other reviews, my experience with Dan was that he was unorganized, disrespectful, dishonest, difficult to communicate with, and simply put, just a very bad attorney. In the end, my opinion of him was that he was only interested in taking as much of my family's net worth as he could possibly get his hands on. When I shared my frustrations regarding his unwillingness to fight for me (and my children), he dropped me as a client. It appears by the other reviews that this is a recurring thing that he does. I wish someone would have warned me about him before I hired him to represent me. AVOID THIS ATTORNEY.

Top Notch!

I laughed aloud at the bad review below. Sounds more like someone disgruntled on the other side than a client of Dan's. I had a stellar experience with my case thanks to Dan and staff. He's my second attorney, my first had been great, but slowly became less organized and it cost me dearly. So... I asked several professionals in the court system who they would use if it were them and their child going to court, and the most common answer I got was Dan West. Now, unlike many attorneys, he isn't a slick schmoozer type....but I've been to court enough to know judges see through that. They focus on facts, honesty and respect for the law. With my child on the line, I chose Dan. Dan exceeded my expectations when it mattered the most. He made sure I was prepared for court, he knew my case details inside and out, was unflinching in the face of an insulting opposing counsel and knew the law to reach my and my child's best outcome. I am thrilled with Dan's skill as an attorney and trust his advice and abilities in court implicitly.
