Lost my children because of him

Absolute TRAIN WRECK of a lawyer! Do not hire him! I had an ugly custody battle with my ex, where I needed to leave the state for my safety. I called his office, where he made lofty promises about not losing any time with my children. I had THREE phone calls with him, where all he wanted to do was ta...lk about money. The entirety of my legal consulting was with his paralegal, who assured me that Mr. Kingsford was diligently working on my case. I brought up multiple instances of my ex stalking me, claiming I had substance abuse issues. You name it, he claimed it. I asked what we were going to do about all of these accusations, and he simply said "I'll dispute those." When I went to give him character references and evidence of my ex's behavior he simply told me "it was too late to admit anything in evidence" Which now I know is completely untrue, he's simply a LAZY, MONEY HUNGRY attorney. I told him at one point police had been called, and instead of reaching out to the police to find out what had happened. He simply said, "we'll can get around that." Not to mention all of the time I'm out state, working two jobs and going to school full time. I heavily relied on him to actually do his job, keep me safe, and for me to get my children. When it came time to for the actual trial (that we went into with no character witnesses, no witnesses to back up my claims of abuse, people who knew that I was sober. You know, IMPORTANT things), he fumbled asking questions, had no responses for my ex's attorney. When it came down to finances and paperwork, HE DIDNT HAVE EVERYTHING FILED. I was missing important paperwork, that HIS OFFICE SAID I HAD GIVEN HIM. When the judge asked where all of this EXTREMELY IMPORTANT paperwork was. He simply shrugged. Not only did I look like a terrible mother, I walked out losing everything and with an insane amount of back child support. He allowed them to make me look like a complete mess, when all I wanted to do was fight for my children and keep myself safe. Mr. Kingsford is a complete joke, how he has any clients is beyond me. I have been trying to save up the money for a competent attorney just to fix all of the problems he has caused. Do not hire him, he will do more damage than he could ever prevent. He is a predatory attorney, he will promise you the world and give you nothing in return. I have nothing good to say about him, and tell everyone I can never to hire him.

The person who posted this was actually an opposing party in a case we handled who was very angry that we prevailed. This person was not my client, nor have I ever handled a case for this person.

I recommend staying away from his services entirely.

I am writing this review to present my opinion of the services provided by Ron A. Kingsford. I found his work on my behalf not only unsatisfactory, but also unacceptable. I was looking for a representation for a protection / restraining order case in Weld county, because the nature of the case was ...not simple. When I talked to Ron A. Kingsford he seemed to be knowledgeable, open, and attentive. However, as soon as I paid him my retainer, I felt like he wanted me to do his job for him. In particular, he wanted me to go find the plaintiff’s place of residence. The temporary restraining order which had already been issued indicated I should not have any contact with accuser. So my investigating of plaintiff’s place of residence could put me in additional legal jeopardy. The consequences I was trying to avoid. Then when I asked him what we need to do to prepare for the hearing. His answer was that we will be alright. After that time, it became difficult to get hold of him up until the hearing date. When the time came for the court hearing, he was not prepared what so ever. It looked like he thought that he would walk in to the courtroom and win the case effortlessly. Nevertheless, the reality was opposite. After the hearing ended, on the way to out of the court building in hallway, he shared with me that we lost the case because the judge was female and did the ruling based on hate to the male kind. When I asked him what could be done to reverse the court’s decision, his answer was that I could hire him again to appeal the judge’s decision. I asked him for my money back. He said that in his opinion he did a great job. When I repeated my request that I want my retainer back, he shouted several times loudly at me that I needed to calm down, as if I was about to offend him. In the conclusion: I would not recommend Mr. Kingsford to anyone. Based on the service he provided me I would have less legal troubles. Actually, I recommend staying away from his services entirely.
