Sarah Jay Schielke

Sarah was an excellent lawyer during my case. When I found her and discussed my situation regarding my DUI, she was extremely knowledgeable about the laws, plea agreements that could be offered, and what evidence I was facing. Sarah was extremely easy to talk to, discuss my fears, hopes, and potent...ial positive outcomes to my case. She was always on time, never missed an appearance, and would always go for the gold. She recommended that I file a hearing with the DMV to review my case to possibly not lose my license. She did a ton of research on the officer, the hearing officer, and networked with other lawyers to see what will/won't work in the hearings. Fortunately, her research showed that my arresting officer was a 90% no show at DMV hearings and I was apart of that statistic. The officer did not show up and she had a good chat with the DMV hearing officer since the DMV hearing officer wasn't happy that I was getting to keep my license but Sarah reminded him that his personal feelings do not factor in to the law and that he has to reinstate my license. She doesn't give anything but the facts and follows the law to a T. Sarah is very patient and worked with me through this process. She answered her phone every time I called, worked out a payment plan, and always gave me her availability. At the time I was facing an in-state DUI as well as an out-of-state DUI. She worked closely with my other lawyer to game plan strategies and potential outcomes. They worked together to give me the best possible outcomes in both states so that neither outcome would jeopardize the other case. Per my request I had asked Sarah to drag this case out as far as she possibly could. She was a little hesitant because of my unique situation but after discussing my personal past experiences of being in court for driving violations, she agreed to drag it out as much as possible for me. For 2 years she worked closely with me and never lost site of my goals, vision, and her persistence to put pressure on the DA to get a better deal was astronomical. At each step of the process, each filing, each court hearing, Sarah would always keep me informed of the outcome and what the next steps were that we should take when the circumstances changed. I cannot speak highly enough of Sarah and her persistence to achieve my goal(s) regarding the outcome to my case. There were a couple times when the plea deals Sarah received were very tempting, however, I opted to not take the deal. I let her know that the longer I drag out the case, the better things turn out for me. She is very thorough, precise, driven, and will always do anything she can to give you the best possible chances at winning your case. She fought hard for 2 years for me and in the end it paid off. About a month or so before I was set to go to trial, Sarah got a call from the DA that the arresting officer had been fired and that the DA was dropping all of my charges. Sarah was extremely surprised that this was the outcome but understood why I did not take any deals. Sarah was amazing and I am certainly glad I chose her to represent me. She was everything that I could have wanted my lawyer to be. I have recommended her to friends in the past and continue to this day to refer friends to her if they need any legal assistance.
