Ms. Sedlak claims to have a vast knowledge of the law and the practice of law. She further claims to be an excellent trial lawyer who learns material quickly and efficiently. Melanie represented me on a Class 5 Felony and the fee schedule for her retainer was $5000. Ms. Sedlak billed over $16000.00 i...n this case and was adequate at best. I was acquitted by a jury but only because I was actually not guilty of the charge, not because Ms. Sedlak was a great attorney. It appears from the number of hours billed that she is not a quick learner and had to review the same material on numerous occassions (billing for each hour in review) in order to be prepared for each task.
