I hired Ellen to handle my divorce. I wanted this divorce to be handled professionally, with as little drama as possible and as quickly as possible. Ellen accomplished all three. I was yelled at constantly, belittled, told to "shut up", threatened, etc. It was her way or the highway. She caused me more stress than I started out with... $3500 wasted and got my son and I nowhere. She refused to listen to me at all and just bailed on me in the middle of our case. I'm a singl...e mom, now what?? Horrible attitude...I became afraid to even talk to her because I would literally end up in tears. Just awful.

Years ago I consulted with this lawyer by phone. It still bothers me to this day how judgment she was without knowing any facts--and, in fact, commenting on situations I was familiar with and she appeared to know nothing about. After telling her I had raised a child with Aspergers who was still liv...ing with me, and hoping to review spousal support she said, "Well, if a 28 year old was living with me I would tell him it's time to leave." Somewhere in the consult she asked if I had any special equipment at home for his disability. Clearly, she did not know what Aspergers Syndrome is. When you are seeking help from a lawyer, you should not be subjected to that lawyers personal opinions. It made if difficult for me to seek help from any other lawyers after that conversation. Finding positive reviews for her--even more upsetting. Treat everyone the same. You are a lawyer.
