Krista Painter Huff

I am incredibly grateful for the compassion, professionalism, and dedication Krista Painter Huff, Attorney with the City of Boulder, showed our family following the fatal attack on our beloved family pet by two off-leash dogs. Krista was the first person in the process who made us feel truly heard.... When she contacted me several months after the attack, she took the time to understand what our family had experienced and treated us with genuine compassion and respect. After such a devastating experience, that meant more than I can express. In the courtroom, Krista was exceptionally composed, calm, compassionate, and sharp. She was clearly well prepared, thoughtful, and organized, and she took the time to prepare our family for what to expect. Her questions for me on the stand were well thought out, clear, and respectful. There were difficult moments in the process, including when she had to share disappointing news about limitations on submitting additional information I wanted to provide regarding the same dogs, and a different case number. Even then, she handled the conversation with honesty and compassion and made sure I understood that I could still share what I had in my personal statement. I felt that Krista represented our family with both professionalism and humanity. She is intelligent, prepared, reasonable, and, most importantly, she genuinely cares about the people affected by the cases she handles. The judicial process can feel complicated and overwhelming, particularly when you are already grieving. Having someone like Krista guiding us through it made an enormous difference. I am deeply grateful that Krista chose this profession and serves the City of Boulder. She is an exceptional attorney, but what stood out most to our family was something even more important: she cares.
