Wendi Sue Temkin

We hired Temkin Law to create an estate plan for my mother-in-law, who does not speak any English. As such, we attended all the meetings in order to translate what Wendi said into Vietnamese. My wife and I are from out-of-town and Wendi was great about accommodating our travel plans in order to sch...edule all of the meetings. She was also creative in coming up with ways to address my mother-in-law’s concerns regarding the potential use of her home after her death, and how to treat a number of family-owned businesses. We really enjoyed working with Wendi, and my mother-in-law feels comforted knowing her wishes were honored in the design of her plan.

Temkin Law offers a thorough service. Wendi's calm and organized manner made it easier for us to follow the process through to the end. She answered my questions clearly, until I totally understood the answer. Wendi was very patient and took the time to understand our circumstances and needs. O...ften questions came up for me after our meetings. She was very timely with her responses to my questions. Wendi asked great questions, that got me thinking in different ways. For example, I used to think "that tree I'd like to buy to plant in the yard is kind of expensive." Now I think about it and say, "Do I want to plant the tree and enjoy watching it grow or do I leave $200 more to one of the many charities we have set up in our estate planning?" Wendi gave us the option of having Temkin Law set up the changes that were necessary to fund the trust we created, or we could do it ourselves with her guidance. We chose to have her make most of the changes for us. She has followed up on several occasions to see that all the transactions had been successfully done. She also sent a letter advising what happens next and to remind us how to add new assets to our trust. Having gone through this process I feel confident that I am not leaving my family with a mess to sort out. I have the comfort in knowing that my future is planned to the best of our knowledge at this time in our lives and that we will review our estate plan with Wendi every three years to make any necessary changes. We have recommended Wendi's services to many of our friends and family.
