Abandoned mid-case, non-responsive, still holding my money.

Abandoned mid-case, non-responsive, still holding my money. I hired this firm for a relocation case that should have been painfully simple. This should have been straightforward administrative work—drafting a stipulation and filing it with the court. Instead, I experienced complete negligence. The... attorney missed court-ordered deadlines and failed to follow clear instructions I provided about how to handle the case. Mid-case, after telling me “let’s jump on this” when my ex agreed to sign, she disappeared entirely. I never heard from her again. I emailed a second attorney at the firm asking if he was now handling my case. No response for three days. When he finally called, he was completely unfamiliar with my case and I had to explain everything to him from scratch. I was billed for this call. My ex-husband and I both signed the agreed stipulation on February 9th. I emailed on February 17th requesting a status update—no response. On February 19th, I called the court clerk myself and discovered the stipulation had never been filed. Ten days had passed. I called the firm and the attorney admitted he had “no idea why it wasn’t filed” and couldn’t explain why he hadn’t responded to my email. He filed it while I was on the phone with me—only because I caught the failure myself. Throughout this process, I was billed for communication I explicitly said was unnecessary, for calls that only existed because the firm made mistakes, and for work that added no value to my case. The total cost was $3,000 for what should have been simple administrative work on an agreed case. I sent a formal letter weeks ago requesting both a fee adjustment and the return of my unused retainer funds (approximately $600). I have received zero response. When I call the office, the only people who answer barely speak English and cannot help me. This feels like a scam operation. After hiring them, I found multiple other reviews describing the exact same pattern: missed deadlines, poor communication, excessive billing, being abandoned mid-case, and difficulty getting money back. I deeply wish I had read those reviews first. Do not hire this firm. You will pay for work they don’t do, receive no communication, and be left to manage your own case while they bill you for their failures.

Amazing Work on Relocation Case

Miranda was amazing! I knew I had an uphill battle going into our case since I wasn’t the primary care taker and my ex wife wanted to relocate with our son. I knew that I also had a lot going for me since I have always been there and have provided for my son since his birth as well. Miranda took my c...ase on short notice and short preparation, but got up to speed quicker than I anticipated. She gave me the best possible legal advice (the to-do’s and not to-do’s) the entire 5-6 months she worked with me. When it came down to actually going to court, she guided and prepared me on exactly what was going to happen before even getting into the courtroom, so all I had to do was remember and execute what she told me to do. She was already in the courthouse before I arrive at the courthouse (which I’m always early) and I really appreciated that. She was attentive in the courtroom and honed in on what was important to the judge’s decision making. She won my case for me because she’s an amazing attorney and knew what to say and what not to say. I will be forever grateful for Miranda and her talent as an attorney! I hope I never have to go through this again, but she will be the first call I make if I ever need to. Thank you Miranda! You’re truly a blessing!

Would recommend

Miranda helped me with my marriage invalidity case. I spoke to several lawyers before choosing her, and I chose Miranda because she seemed to care the most about my situation and take the time to get to know my goals and answer my questions. She and her paralegal did a good job with my case and we go...t the outcome we hoped for.
