Beth Kelley received her Juris Doctor from the University ofColorado School of Law in 2000 where she was awarded the Excellence inLegal Aid Award for her work representing indigent criminal and civilclients. Ms. Kelley received her Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College,in Brunswick, Maine, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree incultural anthropology and English. Ms. Kelley paid for her education,working her way through college in a bakery, a bookstore, cleaningoffices, and landscaping.
Ms. Kelley worked for the Colorado State Senate prior toattending law school. During law school Ms. Kelley did contract workfor law firms in order to help pay for her schooling. Upon graduationfrom law school, Beth Kelley worked as a Judicial Clerk to the ChiefJudge of the Denver Juvenile Court, the Honorable Karen Ashby. Ms.Kelley then worked as a criminal defense attorney in Denver beforejoining Nancy Holton and Associates in Boulder as an Associate. In2005, Ms. Kelley founded the Kelley Law Firm.
For the past five years, Ms. Kelley has taught trial advocacy to aspiring lawyers at her alma mater, the University of Colorado.
Ms. Kelley's publications include The Judicial Benchbook on ColoradoChild Welfare Law, 2001, which she edited and wrote with twomagistrates from the Denver Juvenile Court.
Beth Kelley is a member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, theColorado Bar Association, and the Colorado Women's Bar Association.
In her free time, Beth Kelley plays soccer and teaches Pilates. She resides in Boulder, Colorado.

HORRIBLE JUDGE
I don't know what she was like as an attorney, but I can tell you she is a terrible judge. She takes entirely too long to issue orders, she doesn't read briefs or case law, and she is very much anti-mother.
