Disappointing end

Replied last December 29, 2010Dear Screwed: You overstate your case. It is rare case that an attorney would recommend reaffirming a 2nd mortgage. It is generally stupid. As a fellow bankruptcy attorney, I rarely give into the demands of a client who unwisely wants to reaffirm a 2nd mortgage, I usually tell them to see someone else. You don't loose your home if you don't reaffirm. You don't loose your credit by not reaffirming your home because you already lost it by filing bankruptcy. AND you take the risk of owing a substantial amount of money should you lose your home to foreclosure in the future. Some mortgage companies will not refinance your home in the absence of reaffirmation. I assume that is what prompted this review Guess what? if you shop around you will find a many companies that will give yu a mortgage (assuming you have rebuilt your credit post bankruptcy)
