In February I met with Kit for a consult on a severance agreement and thought it was a great experience. However, not long after, I had a consult with a different employment lawyer and found that I was completely mislead by Kit. The exact same information on the severance agreement in question was pr...ovided to both lawyers. The severance agreement in question was in very clear violation of Colorado statute 24-34-407 which makes the severance agreement void in Colorado. After asking in very clear detail as to why I was advised to sign an agreement considered void under Colorado law, Kit was only capable of stating in very general terms that the severance agreement was in compliance with Colorado law and wanted me to pay an additional $250 to explain any further. To have the opinion of Kit would be a very extreme interpretation of Colorado statute 24-34-407; an interpretation that would more than likely not hold up in a Colorado court of law. Kit is a lawyer that will not act in your best interest and completely lacks integrity. This is not a pro-employee employment lawyer and you are far better off taking more time searching for a truly competent pro-employee employment lawyer. Kit made one thing clear: She is only interested in your money, not what is best for you, the client.
