From my very first meeting with Melissa, I felt confident I had a good lawyer. Not only the legal aspects, court hearings etc., but helping me cope with my accident. I felt really depressed and ashamed of what I did, a DUI after many years of driving. She calmed me down and did a great job presenti...ng my case. When I hired Melissa, I was going through one of the most difficult times of my life. Facing multiple charges and never having been in trouble, ever, I was scared to say the least. Melissa's openness and compassion made it easier to face the situation with complete confidence. There were different pl...eas to consider and she was very thorough in helping me understand not only what they meant, but what the consequences meant in real life terms. There were multiple motions that had to be filed between what came to be 2 separate situations; my original criminal case as well as probation violations. Melissa was very timely as well in following up any issues that came up and made herself available for the direst of need to the simplest of questions, not being of a legal background myself. She was very helpful in keeping me calm and sane through a no less than insane situation. I was terrified. She worked diligently and kept everything on a professional, yet compassionate, level. Her knowledge and follow through both made me very confident in my decision in her office as well as the courtroom. All in all, I would hire Melissa again for any situation within the scope of her expertise.

As much as I did not want to need the services of an attorney, I felt lucky to have had Melissa recommended to me. She was my first contact with the legal system after being released from jail. We talked a bit on the phone then met for a complimentary consultation, at which time I decided to retain h...er. She generously offered to allow me to pay my legal fees in 2 installments with a downpayment and then balance due prior to my court date. I felt free to contact her by phone or email at any time with questions that she promptly and compasisonately repsonded to. My nature as a chronic worrier was soothed by her reassuring nature. Her knowledge of the law and familiarity with how the system "works" allowed me to get thru my legal proceedings with minimal discomfort and cost.

I hired her, and was extremely disappointed. She was not nice when I called, and almost played the victim card when I called to ask questions, she was short and abrupt. If I am paying for help, I do expect the drive, compassion and assistance in ideas etc to win a case, but she basically gave up and ...I never have been so disappointed, felt like I wasted money on nothing. In the end had to hire another lawyer.

As a first time offender, I was terrifed at the thought of having to hire an attorney. Melissa handled my case with care, knowledge and finesse. But for hiring Melissa, I would not have received the outcome I did.
