Horrible choice if you have any hope through a divorce

Failed to fight for any of my desired results from divorce. Paperwork filed late if at all. Flat out told me lies about paperwork being filed, billing, procedures, research, pretty much anything to cover up her laziness and incompetence. Was short with answers to any questions I had with my case. Se...emed to not care about me, my child or my case, unless it concerned her paycheck. Finally fired her and hired a real attorney. Completely unprofessional. Horrible choice, and biggest regret.

Underrepresented in Family Law Case

I was underrepresented by Ms. Carter on my case and it caused some serious repercussions. I would not recommend her except in instances where a case is resolved within 6 months and does not require prompt responses to communication.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
