I initially thought Robert Lantz was on the right path, but I’m saddened to say that my $10,000 retainer was quickly depleted. During our “free” case assessment, I explained my desired outcome, but the conversation soon turned to small talk and personal topics. The first letter he drafted didn’t alig...n with what I wanted, but his charm made me overlook it at the time. If you wish to be charmed, he is your man; however, if you want someone who can think clearly and deliver effective results, he is not the person for you. The ongoing discussions about what he might do next were endless, and I paid for time spent on “thinking” rather than progress. He was always on the wrong side of right. Most of my retainer was used up through Zoom calls, lengthy conversations, and that one letter. From the start, I explained that writing letters would be ineffective since my previous attorney had followed the same approach with no results. After the first letter, I realized most of my retainer had already been spent. He then insisted on writing another letter, despite my clear direction to move toward litigation instead. I told him he was going down a “rabbit hole” and questioned where all my funds had gone. He said he wouldn’t charge me for the second letter, yet I later received another bill for over $2,000. The second letter produced nothing—just like the first. His personable manner made me hopeful, but ultimately, I was left disappointed and back where I started. My previous attorney, at least, achieved partial results; Robert Lantz repeated an ineffective strategy. I’ve requested a partial refund, but I haven't received any communication since then. I’ve been ghosted. It now appears I’ll need to pursue this matter through small claims court in Colorado.
