Robert David Erben

Robert Erben was born in Prachatice, Czech Republic and grew up in Arvada, Colorado, where he attended Regis Jesuit High School. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Mr. Erben began his professional career as an Electrical Engineer with Lear Siegler Incorporated in the area of environmental monitoring technology. In order to sharpen his business skills and further develop his understanding of financial markets, Robert Erben obtained his Series 7 and 63 Securities Brokerage Licenses and worked as an institutional trader, dealing exclusively in the exchange of large blocks of securities on all major stock exchanges. In 1992 he entered law school and, with his engineering background, pursued a degree focusing on intellectual property and patent law. Mr. Erben received both his law degree and master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law from The University of New Hampshire School of Law in Concord, New Hampshire in 1995. Upon graduation, he practiced with an intellectual property law firm in Miami, Florida. Shortly thereafter, Robert Erben began his civil litigation practice representing personal injury victims with a prestigious 20 lawyer law firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mr. Erben was named as a partner in 2002. While in Fort Lauderdale, Mr. Erben achieved numerous verdicts and settlements exceeding $1 million including a verdict which set the national record at the time for the loss of a limb. He has litigated cases against many automobile manufactures, woodchipper manufacturers as well as others. Recently, Mr. Erben was exclusively named as the Honorary Consul to the Czech Republic for the State of Colorado. In addition to his Consular duties, and busy law practice, Mr. Erben also assists in teaching courses at the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder as well as Holmes College in Denver. Robert Erben currently lives in Boulder along with his wife, Laura, and his six children, Ivo, Austin, Nikki, Bobby, Kaja, and Franki. He enjoys all outdoor activities including road and mountain biking, running, camping, skiing and hiking. Robert Erben is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Florida and Texas.
