Kevin promised me he could "work his magic" on a DV case. He not only didn't work his magic but he treated my ex better than he treated me. I was physically struck in the face first and I struck back leaving a cut on my ex's arm. I was charged with attempted assault & convicted. Kevin didn't try to... defend me. He didn't present my side to the DA or the Judge of what happened in a Domestic dispute with my then live in boyfriend. I paid him a lot of money. I am getting laid off from my job and need to find a new job & I am trying to get the record sealed and the Judge has agreed but the DA is objecting. I am waiting the outcome. I served 12 months probation & therapy 4 years ago. Kevin did nothing I asked him to do. He was charmed by my ex narcissist boyfriend. I asked to be put in a diversion program which on completion would expunge my record. He told me he didn't think I could do it. I am now faced with losing my home if the judge goes with the DA's position and doesn't seal my file. I have no previous violence. I reacted to getting hit in the mouth. Don't hire this lawyer he is lazy and won't help you unless he feels like it and he sure didn't with me. He made me a promise he couldn't keep. Keep looking for a lawyer don't stop here.

I hired Kevin twice, once for my initial divorce while living in Colorado and less than two years later for a post-decree matter when my ex-husband filed a motion to modify my maintenance, Although Kevin did a decent job with my initial divorce settlement when he was at The Harris Law Firm, I had a c...ompletely different experience the second time when he was at Pickard Law. The modification of maintenance had a key factor supported by a wealth of case law that Kevin never once mentioned to me in that my ex-husband had a "heavy burden to show that there were changed circumstances so ongoing and continual to make the original terms unfair". Kevin seemed more interested in settling at a big reduction to me versus a prospect of going to court when I had a strong case against modification. After a failed mediation we parted ways and I hired a fabulous attorney who ended up winning my case in court resulting in no reduction to my maintenance. Had I not gotten new counsel and stayed with Kevin I could have ended up settling for a completely unreasonable and unnecessary reduction to avoid court which would have cost me a significant loss of income over the ten years of maintenance I had left. Bottom line, I didn't get the advocacy I needed from him at great expense. I am grateful that I ended up winning my case in court with a different attorney and I would not recommend Kevin.

Kevin took the time to really listen to my post-divorce situation so that he had an understanding of what the issues were and what had to be done to resolve the situation. He was knowledgeable, provided me with options, kept me informed, and responded to all of my questions in a timely manner.
