My name is Michael Hug and I am uniquely qualified to assist you in resolving your legal matters as they pertain to family law. Family law is a very broad and encompassing term as many issues confront includes all aspects of a divorce including child support, maintenance (spousal support), property division, parenting time decision-making, and modification of existing Court Orders.
Family law also includes all matters pertaining to custody and support of children born to parties who were not married and ensuring orders are obtained that are best for our clients and the children.
Modification of existing Court orders regarding custody, support and maintenance (alimony) are also an integral part of this family law practice. The needs of parents and children change over time and changes to the existing orders must be accomplished. This includes the financial circumstances of the parents getting modified to reflect current economic circumstances and climate.
Unfortunately, criminal laws are sometimes implicated in family law. Protection orders may be sought or defended, child abuse charges may arise and assault charges against a spouse may occur. It is important that the family law attorney have adequate experience in criminal law because the results of criminal cases, protection orders, and DHS involvement, often have far reaching implications upon your rights to parenting time and decisionmaking of your own children.
My experience in family law and criminal law, and my countless hours in the courtroom are what make me uniquely qualified to be your legal counsel.
