Bernadette Gonzalez is the worst lawyer i have ever worked with from the beginning of the case to the end was a disaster me having to correct all names that where not spelled correct she never communicated with me i had to continuously ask for updates When she first took my case she told me it was $...3000 flat fee never once did she give me a schedule fee or a break down of what she charged later on once the first court date came up she told me i was paid up to $3000 that in order for her to go in to court i had to pay an additional $1500 i then brought it to her attention that it had been a flat fee per her words and she went off the wall telling me she would never do a flat fee i said OK show me our agreement or paperwork with my signature she failed to provide any proof of the agreement saying i would pay more then the $3000 that was already paid she told me she had lost the paperwork that she would provide me with copies of this agreement the date of court so that they comes court is set 130pm thank God there was a case in front of ours because she was late to begin with so now we walk in the court room Bernadette is scrambling trow her bag to get her laptop ready the judge asked who is ............ i said that is my daughter that we are adopting today the judge then shakes her head and says to us all your paperwork is filled out incorrect the captions are wrong at this time Bernadette not able to get her laptop out to figure things out so i hand her the entire case that i had printed days prior the judge says you will need to file all new paperwork with the names in the correct location and set a new court date now this was hard on us because we expected to walk out being legal parents of this child as we walk out of court and we see all the other parents celebrating and happy we walk away in full tears we walk a few feet down the hall Bernadette then stops and tells me lets talk about what you owe me and i will need payment before next court date me knowing i owed nothing more went back to the judge explained my situation that she wanted more money could i do it by myself at this point the judge sends Bernadette a email telling her about what i had explained to her about wanting more money Bernadette emails me to tell me she was upset that i spoke with the judge about our agreement not even apologizing for her mistake in this case but that she will finish the case and set the next court date WELL THE NEW COURT DATE ARRIVED IT WAS AT 230PM I GET TO COURT AT 210PM SHE THEN CALLS ME AT 217PM TELLING ME SHE IS RUNNING LATE LONG STORY SHORT SHE NEVER SHOWED UP TO MY COURT DATE THIS LADY IS A JOKE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

I cant stress enough to anyone who is considering to hire Bernadette Gonzales to NOT hire this woman! I met with her to help me with my child custody case recently. Blessing in disguise she showed her true colors before she even filed my case with the court. She basically told me when I fired her tha...t her firm “prioritizes their cases” so I guess if you’re case is not important in her mind, they just leave it in their “stack of paperwork” and don’t feel the need to communicate with you. She was fired by me due to her POOR communication. She ignored me up until I fired her when she finally responded to me. She took my $3500 retainer fee and then went MIA on me. I Never heard from her nor her unprofessional staff. Not sure what kind of law firm is being ran here but it’s definitely ghetto and so unprofessional. Iv hired a lawyer in the past and it was a night and day difference of professionalism! Huge mistake on my end. Read her reviews!! She did absolutely nothing for me, and still felt entitled to rob me of $360 from my refunded retainer. My current attorney had to send her a demand letter of repayment to me with the threat of litigation just to get my retainer back. 5280 law is a scam and i advise anyone to look elsewhere! I have found other council at Johnson law group which has been amazing! They communicate with you and act like you’re their only client! Please call them for any of your legal needs! They have been a huge blessing for me and my family this far! DO NOT give this woman opportunity to rip you off!

bernadette gonzales set me up for failure, after i denied the plea deal that the DA was offering. she was mad i didnt take a 1 year probation 36 domestic voilence classes all payed for, and itd be took of my record. well i denied that cuz there was evidence that i was defending myself while being att...acked when driving. because im innocent... she told me that she read on the discovery my wife indeed said she "was hittting me while i was driving and i throw my arm up" which ended up in a black eyes. so i thought i had a chance in court. which i found out that day she never filed motion for a self defense. so long story short. she let me loose took my $6,000 and told me how she didnt beleiver my story anyways!!!!!!!!!! she is a horrible lawyer and needs to get her license tooken away for malpractice. oh ya i must add on. she also sen messaged to my buddys wife that my buddy was saying.. bernadette was represting my buddy! but yes shes sharing info with the other party...
