Jose Manuel Colon

Jose (Joseph) Colon manages a diverse caseload spanning domestic conflicts between contentious parties to administrative law cases between small business owners and the State. He has experience handling and resolving mechanics liens, civil property disputes, traffic infractions, small business compliance issues and high conflict dissolution of marriage cases. He will work to problem solve complex legal issues and minimize unnecessary tension and unprofessionalism between the parties of any conflict.

He is a passionate advocate and has contributed numerous pro bono hours on behalf of small business owners, presenting and creating awareness on issues impacting Colorado's small businesses.

Prior to joining the firm, Joe served in the Air Force as an Intelligence Analyst from 2000 to 2006. During that time, he studied Korean at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California and obtained his BA in East Asian History with a minor in Asian Studies, graduating Cum Laude in 2006 from the University of Denver.

In 2007, he attended the University of Wyoming College of Law and was the first law student from that law school to attend Temple University's Juris Doctor Semester Abroad in Tokyo, Japan. After earning his Juris Doctor degree in 2010, he joined the Army Reserve as an Engineer Officer, commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in 2011. He also worked in the mortgage compliance industry reviewing improper foreclosure actions, banking compliance with Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) and Servicemember Civil Relief Act (SCRA) regulations.

In 2015, he deployed to Kuwait as the construction management section's assistant officer in-charge (OIC), planning and managing construction on United States military installations throughout Kuwait.
