This review is from a person who hired this attorney.

poor communication and lack of attention to deadlines-the judge dismissed my case.

I hired Kate to take my ex-husband back to court for school expenses and health insurance premiums he refuses to pay. I often attempted to contact Kate and rarely received calls back, phone messages or emails. The court had set some orders and deadlines, due to Kate's lack of attention to my case, m...y case was dismissed by the judge. I had a great case, but due to inactivity by Kate, my case is dismissed.

Thumbs down.

I am a former client of Kate Sereff. After hiring her, Kate was not responsive to multiple direct calls to her and to other calls through her office. I was not kept informed about matters, and multiple unneeded subpoenas were sent out without discussing this with me first. I felt that I did not ha...ve a voice in court and was ignored when I brought this up.

Family lawyer | Nov 05

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I had Kate take over several family law clients for me when I needed the extra help. I spoke with my clients both prior to and after Kate took their cases. They were extremely happy with the results and could not stop talking about how thankful they were for me referring them to her. My experience with her work on a professional level is also positive. Kate spends extra time 'getting it right;' not just because she is a professional, but because she cares about her clients."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
