I found Mrs. Legan to be intelligent and well-versed in the law, but disorganized, disinterested and scatter-brained as well. I hired her to handle a non-contested divorce--my ex and I had already come to an agreement prior to initiating the legal part of it. All we needed was to have a detailed decr...ee written up. Dealing with Mrs. Legan was for me by far the most difficult part of the divorce process. I met with her at length to work up a draft of the decree. Somehow, Mrs. Legan managed to lose the draft of the decree she wrote from her computer; then after dodging my calls for several weeks, she transferred me to her associate Corey Sainz and we started all over again. Once we were close to being finished, Ms. Sainz left the practice and I had to start all over again with Mrs. Legan. She managed to burn through almost my entire $5K retainer on a matter than should have been handled a lot more quickly. I NEVER felt as though Mrs. Legan was advocating for me or that she was the slightest bit interested in working to get me a positive outcome with my divorce. I often wonder what would of happened if I had hired a different lawyer. I managed to finish the process with her (after she showed up 2 hours late for our court date) but I deeply regretted hiring her as my attorney. Maybe she cares about some of her clients but I never felt as though she gave a damn about me.

Currently have a custody case with her and needless to say, I'm not impressed. She definitely has no issues taking your money, as with all lawyers, but definitely not getting results for what we're investing. She may seem like a caring and knowledgeable individual but she isn't fighting for my childr...en; maybe it's because my case is too involved and complex but it honestly feels like she doesn't know what she's doing or what to do with all the information and ammunition we've given her. We have a trial coming up soon; we'll see if our opinions change or worsen.

In my experience, Ms. Legan is a knowledgeable attorney but does not effectively deliver results, and has flaky communication habits. Prior to my initial hearing, she did a fair job of keeping me informed about the status of my case, and how she intended to represent my side. During the initial hea...ring, she did a great job, and we won most of what I was hoping for in the form of temporary orders. However, when it came time for the actual hearing, we lost on all fronts. To be fair, this might have been simply because the El Paso court system is grossly biased toward women, or that the judge we had was very new to the bench. That said, since the hearing, she has dragged her feet in completing the necessary followup paperwork and takes several weeks to return my calls. She has been largely unresponsive. Her office consistently tells me she is busy and will return my calls, but I never hear back. I get the impression she has too many cases on her plate. Overall, despite my initially positive impressions, I would recommend to others to seek council elsewhere.

Kristina Voorhies Legan and staff were extremely competent and knowledgeable. Not only was my case handled professionally but I received timely updates and feedback. I did a lot of research in selecting the most competent lawyer based on reviews and time after time her name came up for family law. I ...appreciate all she and her staff did to support me with my legal matter and would defiantly seek her counsel again.
