also known as Ed Solis
I am a criminal defense lawyer who is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and have been since 1998. I have tried cases of all levels, from Class C Misdemeanors to several Capital Murder and First Degree Murder trials.
I have tried cases in state and federal courts, to include trials out of state in New Mexico and Missouri. I have tried multi ton drug conspiracy cases in federal court in several cities in Texas. I have tried cases involving conspiracy to possess milliions of dollars of counterfeit currency. I have tried multiple DWI cases and serious Aggravated Sexual Assault cases.
When necessary, which is in fact quite freqent, I have enlisted the assistance of experts to assist in providing the most effective defense to our clients.
My approach to the practice of criminal defense work is not to run my client's case through the system, so to speak, but rather to discern and develop a legal defense and then work to obtain the best possible result for our clients. This approach is inconsistent with working out a plea bargain at the first opportunity. While a plea bargain is an option, it should not be the first and it is not the first in my practice of criminal law.
Finally, I will never lie to you, mislead you or tell you what you want to hear. I will always tell it like it is.

GREAT CHOICE
I am a California resident, who was searched at the Sierra Blanca Customs check point on I-10 in Texas. Yes I had less than 2 grams of marijuana in my backpack. I was given a paraphernalia ticket which is a lesser offense in TX. Unfortunately what is lesser degree in Texas is a higher degree crime...
"Ed and I represented co-defendants in a three week jury trial in federal court, where the charge carried a sentence of ten years to life. The defendants that Ed and I represented are both free men today. Ed's knowledge of criminal law and procedure is excellent, and he is a zealous advocate for his clients."
