She went above and beyond what she had to do!

She was handling a DWI case for me, pro bono. I also had a pending custody case. She did me a favor by resetting my DWI case so that I wouldn't have it hanging over me when I went to court for custody. She and her team were very friendly and helpful. Thank you Laura!

Satisfied Customer

At first I felt Mrs. Carpenter was impersonal towards me as a client. I hired Mrs. Carpenter for my divorce and child custody legal issues. My experiences with her and her law firm were from July 2012-August 2015. I spent around five thousand dollars paying for her legal representation. Of course... I did not like the amount of money I had to pay because it was a small fortune to me, but if I wanted a good lawyer I knew I would have to pay for one. That is simply how it works. Mrs. Carpenter was not available to me all the time but her staff was and consulted with her about any problems I had then promptly got in touch with me with information. I saw a great team effort from the Law Offices of Laura Carpenter towards my case. I learned that just because Mrs. Carpenter and I didn't have a personal relationship did not mean that she wasn't invested in accomplishing my goals for my case. She kept our relationship professional and I respect her for it. However, it was extremely difficult, at first, for me because my heart was in every minute of it. My sons well being absolutely depended on the outcome. Mrs. Carpenter is honorable and she is skilled at her work. Her confidence and demeanor in the court room is a force to be reckoned with. She has worked among the Odessa/Midland community for over ten years I believe and is a respected part of that community. There is a lot of benefit in having a local lawyer who has known most (if not all) of the Judges and legal counselors. She understands and executes the appropriate legal documents involved in cases. I learned, through my experience, that is actually the most important aspect of a successful outcome. I don't like or agree with that but, it is what it is. I strongly recommend Laura Carpenter as legal representation for divorce and child custody cases.

relieved in the end

I read the one star or five star reviews below. There is no middle ground. I, like several others listed herein, think Ms. Carpenter is an excellent attorney. She saved me in my case from a horrible situation with my children. I thought I was in bad shape but in the end- I got more than I ever ex...pected in the final order. She is an excellent family lawyer. As I read the 1 star comments, they seem to be upset about $$. Nothing in this world is free and you get what you pay for. If you don't pay, why would anybody work for you? It seems that is likely to be what is not written and hiding between the lines of the disgruntled comments. I don't know. All I can say for sure is that she is a powerful attorney and runs a hard line. I suggest you hire her if you can!

Awful!

This woman will leave you standing in court by to represent yourself, she takes your retainer and you're lucky if she shows up to the next hearing without demanding you pay more money. She never calls her clients back, she does not put in the work you have to do all the research and bring to court fo...r yourself. Please steer clear of this woman she is a scammer you will lose everything in a divorce, custody of your children or maybe end up in jail! She deletes negative reviews on her Facebook ads and other platforms. Please look for a better qualified person so the legal system will take you seriously

Worst lawyer I’ve ever dealt with

Hired her and paid upfront. Had an adoption I wanted her to handle for us. No nonsense the biological father had given up his rights and I was adopting. Her assistant told me what fee was and I paid! 2hrs later it still wasn’t done!!! Call after call after call!! Nothing was ever answered and no one... could ever tell us anything. Finally got it done and she hired a standin for herself!!! I never even met the woman at all!! Most unprofessional attorney ever!!
