I am a Board Certified Family Law attorney in solo practice in Lubbock, Texas.
I graduated summa cum laude from Hardin Simmons University in December 2001 with a B.A. in Business Administration. I obtained my J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law in May 2005.
While at Texas Tech, I was awarded Order of the Barristers, the J. Hadley Edgar Trial Excellence Award, and the Cotton, Bledsoe, Tighe & Dawson Advocacy Award. My participation in national mock trial competitions earned me the distinction of Best Advocate as part of the National Finalist Team in the 2004 William Daniel Mock Trial, Atlanta, Georgia. In my role as Justice of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, I spearheaded the Inaugural Law School Gala.
Prior to starting this solo practice I was employed with Mullin Hoard & Brown, LLP in Lubbock, Texas.

Her staff is competent and both of their communication is excellent (which is something I've had huge issues with, with previous attorneys). She is as tough as it gets...

"I absolutely endorse Melissa. Melissa exemplifies the full spectrum of what I believe a good lawyer should be. She is smart, tough, and works very hard. She listens to and respects her clients while, at the same time, clearly communicating to her clients expectations that are the most reasonable and achievable. She does a fantastic job of taking on issues in a case, even if it causes her a great personal inconvenience and diminishes her "bottom line." Finally, she treats each client with the utmost respect and carefully communicates with her clients regarding developments and strategies in their case. I never have any hesitation in recommending her to my own friends and family."
