Keith Thomas Lauerman

I went to trial with Mr. Lauerman and lost! This was a easy case to beat I was accused of attempted sexual assault at 12pm in broad daylight at a busy shopping mall with no neutral witnesses to verify the the accusations just a 20 year old non English speaking female and her 70 year old boyfriend who... had done 20 years for fraud. The witness said under oath that she escaped her attacker by jumping out the truck window but the pictures on the scene showed the window was rolled up. She didn't have any bruises on her body and neither did I because I never got inside her car to sexual assault as she claimed. The jury selection was fraud as it was all white with 9 females in a attempted sexual assault trial. Who in they right mind would attempt to rape a woman in the front seat of her car in front of her boyfriend? Any compent lawyer could have beat this case. Never go to trial with a public defender!

Mr. Lauerman unfailingly kept every agreement to meet with me and was very generous with his time over the 16 months that he represented me. I have been through the federal criminal system 3 times and can say that no court appointed attorney I have had or heard about was as communicative and support...ive.

I hired Keith Lauerman to help get a bogus criminal charge dismissed, which Lauerman told me that I wasn’t guilty of. I gave direction to Lauerman to plea “not guilty” and demand a trial, which I was convinced that I would win, since the witness who filed the bogus criminal charge was obviously lying... and therefore no evidence against me actually existed. During multiple hearings, the county prosecutor kept lessening the charge and offering me deals, in exchange for a guilty plea. I was confused when Lauerman actually tried to sell me on these plea deals, when I had previously gave him strict direction to stick with my original plea and request a trial. I became irritated with Lauerman when he continued to try to sell me on repeated plea deals. I felt as if he was refusing to follow my clear direction. During these multiple hearings, Lauerman replaced his legal assistant who works for him in his office. My main contact with Lauerman to date was thru his prior legal assistant, who gave me updates on my case, and informed me of upcoming hearings. The prior assistant was friendly and cooperative. However, his new replacement assistant was anything but friendly and cooperative, to the extent that when I called for updates, I was treated rudely and disrespectfully. The assistant treated me as if I was a lower class citizen, I had no tolerance for this unprofessional behavior. I emailed Lauerman to inform him that, as his client, I required better customer service than his new assistant was giving. I then provided examples of specific incidents of uncooperation and attitude. In an abrupt retaliation, Lauerman sent me a heated and emotional letter, wherein he stated that HE wound not tolerate ME disrespecting his staff (say what?), and Lauerman informed me of his intent to withdraw as my attorney, in the middle of my case. This was completely unprofessional of Lauerman. Luckily I found replacement council who quickly got the charge dismissed, and the corresponding arrest record properly expunged. It is my understanding from Avvo that he Lauerman has “disputed” this review. It is not uncommon for attorneys on Avvo to diligently dispute any and all negative reviews, to the extent that they (big surprise) threaten legal action unless the review is removed, citing defamation. A bullet proof defense against defamation allegations is truthfulness, and this review will stay posted.
