Saved My Arse.

I was fortunate enough to heed Brantley's advice concerning a Design/Development dispute that arose on a project I had been workin on for close to a year. The project was with a developer 'friend' who ultimately acted neither 'friendly' nor professionally. After explaining my situation to Bra...ntley, he helped me understand that any position/leverage I had left was quickly waning. I had already allowed my friend/colleague months to get caught up on payments which he assured me he would get to me 'next week' or 'soon'. After several weeks of the same story, only to see my colleague spending money freely elsewhere, I began to grow both annoyed and concerned. I've always been a man of my word and was hoping that my friend/colleague would be true to his. However, Brantley then noted that nothing in my friend/colleague's actions provided any indication that he actually had any intention of doing so. Ultimately, I took Brantley's advice and placed a lien on the project property. My colleague had already stated that he was going to pay me what he owed me at closing, so Brantley reiterated that this course of action would ensure that he would. After weeks of waiting to hear back about how the closing went, with no word, we followed up on the sale of the property only to find that my colleague had sold the property and run off with all the money from the sale. So much for 'his word' that he would get everyone caught up at closing. He literally took the money and ran. To top off his deceit - he then tried to claim that the lien was invalid and told the new owners that they needed to sue me for having an invalid lien on the property. At this point you needed a shovel to wade through the sludge of BS that was coming out my colleague's mouth, and I was now also getting threatened with lawsuits from the new owners who I had never even met. Fortunately, Brantley had seen this all before and was on it. Calming my concerns he explained to me that this seemed like pretty obvious intimidation/posturing tactics by the other party, and that very little of what he was hearing was adding up. After contacting the new owner's attorneys - as well as the other individuals/attorneys involved, he was able to get them realize we weren't biting and that their claims held little weight. Not only were they incorrect in their claims, but he also informed them of then fact that they were also now in the midst of a fraud case, as the Title Agent and my 'friend'/colleague had seemingly colluded to allow my client to take the money and run, even after the title agent already knew full well the lien and debts were owed on the property. After walking the new owners through the actual facts of the situation, it became evident that they were 'barking up the wrong tree', and should in fact be directing their legal focus towards my colleague and his title agent, who had been lying to everyone for months. To say the case quickly turned around is an understatement. After spending a week receiving threats of suit from people I didn't even know, Brantley had managed to change everyone's tunes, and put the pressure upon the individuals it was actually due. Not surprisingly, I finally heard back from my colleague and his title agent who now said they "wanted to make sure they got me what I was owed." I can't say enough about how well Brantley assessed the situation and positioned my interests throughout this ridiculous endeavor. Ultimately he got me everything I was owed. I can, however, say without a doubt, that had I not consulted with Brantley regarding this issue I would've most likely been greatly burned by my colleague, even with a signed contract, as the whole ordeal would've ended up in a lengthy legal battle, instead of the remarkably short bout of absurdity that he navigated me through. I would highly recommend his services to anyone. Thanks again!!
