Steve and his firm are amazing!! They stay in communication, charge a very fair price for services rendered. Kept me from sitting all day in a courtroom. In and out. By far best legal experience ever.
With over 20 years in the business, Brand and Resendez are extremely knowledgeable and very well respected in their field. They do a great job at listening, understanding the needs and investigating each case to the fullest. They provided consultation for me and then ended up representing a good fried of mine. Through their thorough investigation of the case and representation to the jury they were able to get an acquittal for him. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing representation.
Steven Brand graduated cum laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, achieving distinction there as a member of the Order of the Coif. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. During law school, Mr. Brand studied under attorney Barry Scheck, a nationally renowned death penalty lawyer and founder of the first innocence project. Mr. Brand is admitted to practice law in the states of Texas and New York and the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Texas, Eastern District of New York, Southern District of New York (New York City), U.S. Court of Appeals of the Armed Forces, Navy/Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, Army Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals. Mr. Brand was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised on Long Island. He served as a U.S. Air Force Officer in the Judge Advocate General Corps. He was stationed at Randolph Air Force Base (San Antonio) and Grand Forks Air Force Base (North Dakota). His billets included Trial and Defense Counsel, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief Contracting Officer. Notable cases over his time in the military include an Air Force member accused of smuggling and running guns into England and clemency for a Bronze Star winner who had been court-martialed in Iraq. As a private practitioner, Mr. Brand has maintained an active military law practice.
Prior to joining our firm, Mr. Brand further distinguished himself as a top-level felony prosecutor. He is a superb trial lawyer. He served for eight years as an assistant district attorney in the Travis County District Attorney’s Office. For more than half of his tenure, he served as a chief prosecutor. He has handled a number of challenging and high-profile cases, including the widely publicized “west campus” murders in Austin. He was a member of the prosecution team in the case of former U.S. House of Representatives Whip and Majority Leader, Tom DeLay. Mr. Brand’s cases have been reported by the Los Angeles Times, 590 AM KLBJ Austin, San Antonio Talk Radio, the Austin American Statesman, and Sky News in England. He has been featured on the cable channel Investigation Discovery’s show “Deadly Sins.” He has lectured to psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, and other lawyers. He has participated in training conducted by the United States Secret Service’s National Computer Forensics Institute.
He is a member of the board of directors of the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association and has lectured to criminal defense lawyers for the State Bar of Texas. And, while he has a kind disposition, you might not know that if you see him in a trial.

"Steve is an incredibly gifted trial lawyer. He knows the nuances of the law and will fight. for your case to be dismissed. You can't go wrong with Steve in your corner."

"I am a criminal defense attorney practicing in New York for 14 years and have tried complex state and federal criminal cases. Whenever a friend or former client gets in trouble in Texas, I immediately refer them to Steven Brand. I have worked with him on a high-profile homicide which resulted in a full acquittal. He is thorough, meticulous, leaves no stone unturned, and cares about what YOU want. In other words, if you want to avoid trial and get the best plea deal, he will get it for you. If you want a dismissal or your day in court, you will have it. If it is possible, Steven will get it for you. He is also personable, respectful, and highly considerate. But don't confuse his kindness with weakness--he is extremely aggressive in the court room and in his investigations. He is well respected by judges and prosecutors. Hire him. Period."

"Steve Brand is an amazing trial attorney. His attention to detail and creativity in the courtroom allows his clients to get the results they want. Steve is extremely competitive, which translates to never giving up no matter how many times he hears the word "no." He is the attorney other attorneys want to watch in trial because his passion is infectious and his cross examination is performed as as if it were an art."
