Brad is currently a Professor of business law, business ethics, and commercial transactions in The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas – Austin. He stays in shape by carrying around a copy of the Uniform Commercial Code and encourages students to work hard and live a healthy, balanced life. Every semester, over 500 of the brightest young minds in the world sit in his auditorium classroom and learn how the real world of business operates and how to prepare for it. Brad finds this work to be extremely rewarding and loves giving back to the University that was so good to him as a student!
Brad also educates corporate and executive education professionals on matters such as taxes, mergers and acquisitions, product compliance, business ethics, and the environmental impact of products and services. Although not a CPA himself, Brad teaches executive education courses to Certified Public Accountants through Thomson Reuters.
Brad is plugged in to the startup scene in Austin through representing several startup clients that call places like Galvanize, Capital Factory, and WeWork their home. And as a true "Austin-preneur", Brad is also Co-Founder and COO of startup FinTech firm MiraLend, a community-focused peer to peer lending marketplace that uses a patent-pending method of using social media and community data to generate credit scores. MiraLend was a part of DivInc's cohort #2; DivInc is an Austin-based pre-accelerator program focused on launching female-owned and ethnically-diverse tech startups.
