Katherine Burnstein came highly recommended by another lawyer I've known for years, and worked for nearly 18 months on my divorce and custody case. Katherine possesses a perfect balance of compassion, empathy, and occasional brutal honesty when necessary. Her years of experience and her clear lov...e of ongoing learning were invaluable in helping me navigate a complex situation that I knew little about. She had the patience and willingness to listen and help me figure out what I wanted and needed, without ever pushing me toward her own conclusions. When the need arose for specialists outside of the field of law to assist with the case, I was very impressed with the experts she brought it. Katherine showed keen attention to detail, catching little details in the settlement proposals that were either errors or ambiguities. In the end, I benefitted from her ability to catch these details that others might have missed. Katherine seems to have good working relationships with other family lawyers in town and is respectful, professional, and friendly when communicating with them. When she needs to, however, she has a fierce strength and voice that gets what needs to be done, done. Going through a divorce is an agonizing experience, and it meant the world to me to have someone like Katherine fighting in my corner and walking with me through that difficult time. Kathryn handled my divorce. She was absolutely intent on making sure I got the very best settlement and on ensuring I understood the repercussions of my decisions during the process.
