Showing 1 - 1 of 1 review | DUI & DWI

Posted by Peggy Conrad | December 06, 2015 | Hired Attorney | DUI & DWI

Very rude, unprofessional, unorganized, unreliable, & unethical

I was arrested for DWI. My boyfriend contacted a lawyer. He agreed to take my case and get me a PR bond for $3000 flat fee with $1000 down and the rest made in payments. My condition of my PR bond was to have a Breathalyzer in my car, at home monitor, & attend an alcohol assessment. I asked him a...bout the waiver for the car Breathalyzer. His response was we had plenty of time. To just get the home monitor and call my pretrial officer (which I did). This case is in Austin. I live in Houston. I am on probation in Houston. I told him I had to get approval for the alcohol assessment class to travel to Austin and to also save money for travel and the class. My pretrial officer was ok with that as long at it got done. The judge ended up revoking my bond because the form and class was not done. Which he had the form and he knew I had to get approval but failed to represent me on that part in court and made me think all was good. At this time, I didn't really know why my bond was revoked. (have all the paper work and messages) My boyfriend called him and told us we would have to pay the remained of the $3000 so $2000 and he would get me out. So we did (have all the paper work and messages). It wasn't until I got out as to the reason I found out why my bond was revoked. He never filed the waiver or let the judge now I was waiting on a pass from my probation officer A week or so later, I got a phone call from my pretrial lawyer letting me know that my lawyer still has not submitted the waiver for car Breathalyzer and my PR bond was being revoke. I contacted him my phone and text and he would not respond. The pre-trial kept trying to contact him as well and wouldn't return her calls. He finally called me back. Cussed me out and then hung up on me. He never even let me know if he filed the form. I finally got approval for pass to take the class and called to set it up at the Travis County Counseling Service. I was told my lawyer had to fill out a form for me to take the class. I notified Brian (which took an act of God to get him to get in touch with me). Was very rude to me again. Told me he would get it done and hung up on me. The form was never done (I had to hire another attorney to submit it for me). In the beginning Brian told me that I didn't have to show for court and he would show for me and let me know when I have to start showing. He called me the day of court at 9:30am asking me where I was. At this point I was very upset. He was notifying me the day of court that I have to start appearing in court. the judge was going to revoke my bond, AGAIN. On our phone conversation he was very rude to me, stated if "If you don't shut up I am going to hand up on YO ass!" and then hung up on me. He then went in front of the judge telling him I would be there Friday knowing that I can't just jump on a bus because I am on probation and have to get a pass. He sent me a text with the new court date telling me to call my probation officer and let her know the judge is requiring me to be here, even when i just told him it take at least two weeks to get a pass. He claimed he didn't know (I have text messages showing he did). I still have yet to hear from him. He will not return my calls, let me know what is going on with my case, reply to my texts, or emails. I had to hire another lawyer to file the form for the class. Speak with me about what is going on in my case. And to go before the judge and explain that I was not aware that I was suppose to start showing up to court and I am here now to take the Alcohol Assessment but can't be in court on Friday because I have to return to Houston. This lawyer is a horrible lawyer. He has already been reprimanded and doesn't have his clients best interest. DONE NOT HIRE HIM!!!
