has some exp but doesnt use it

this attorney was hired to defend me and at first she explained my severeness of my charges, and as discovery came along she insisted i was illegally searched ,and that my rights were violated. and telling me what i wanted to hear ,as the case went along she started retracting her defense, and started... working on a plea deal, their were many areas she could of argued but she didnt, didnt file any motions on my behalf especially suppression motion. she charged an outrageous fee, that she did not earn she didnt stick to the case issues she was in plea mode.i didnt pay her all the fee as i feel she earned only her 6-8 trips to court, gas, and the probation hearing,as i feel i was researching the law more than she was.and this attorney gets so upset that she threatens to withdrawl on several occasions because she doesnt want to work. she seemed afraid and not knowledgeable of the laws and intimidated by the prosecution based on her fears of his reactions to file any motions, didnt file one motion. lawyers dont see any easy case and they go into running a plea mill.

I know who posted this and am not surprised. I would like to inform the public that this individual was a habitual felon which means his penalty range was 25 years to LIFE in prison. This means that best case scenario, upon conviction, he would have received a minimum of 25 years. The State's first offer was 20 years in prison. I negotiated it down to two years. He did not want to do any jail time. With his consent--because you must have the client's consent--we did an open plea. This means that we put on witnesses and made a case for probation. He would not have been eligible to receive probation from a jury. Much to the State's surprise and our relief, the judge gave this individual 5 years of probation. By any account, someone who is looking at 25-LIFE who ends up with no prison time whatsoever should be pleased. It was a great outcome and one I am very proud of. The client paid less than 1/4 of his fee and due to his later expressed anger I declined to accept his offer to pay me "what he thought I had earned." I simply wrote it off. To this day I do not understand his displeasure but I do hope the public will look at the facts and make up their own minds. This client got a great outcome, and he is with his family and able to raise his small children because of my efforts. And I sleep very well at night knowing that.

Finaly an attorney who truly cares

Virginia is an outstanding attorney who truly cares for her clients well being. She is a professional who understands that people make mistakes and runs off of the hope and belief that the client can and will succeed in life if given the opportunity. She speaks to her clients with intellect, confiden...ce, compassion and assurance that she will do everything within her power and the law to obtain the best possible outcome. Virginia was court appointed as my public defender for a felony charge that I foolishly picked up at the age of 17, however, she did not represent me on the case till I was 24 . By that time I had gone through numerous public defenders who wanted nothing but to focus on their higher paid clients. She was the glimmer of hope that our justice system needs in order to become healthy, strong, and reliable. I am now 32 years old with two beautiful children and a wife that I adore. I also have a wonderful military career with two combat tours to Iraq that I can be proud of for the rest of my life. I am no longer viewed as a felon but as a successful father, husband and war veteran. Thank you Virginia for believing in me. By the way to the habitual felon who left the snide comment, it is spelled there not their, I'm sure that if you spent more time educating yourself vs committing crime you would know that.

Professional, compassionate, and the best choice in the worst circumstances

I employed Virginia in 2012 at basically the lowest point in my life. She was a professional through and through. She was supportive, but realistic. She made a terrible situation into a manageable one. I've never dealt with such a compassionate, yet gritty lawyer. She "know's her stuff" and is s...o well-like and respected by her peers, her winning results seem almost effortless. (My case dismissed!) She is a real person and treats her clients as such. I would send any friend or family member directly to her doorstep without question if the need arose. Hands down, the best criminal attorney in central texas.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I endorse Virginia wholeheartedly. As a family lawyer, from time to time, I need to refer a client to competent criminal defense counsel. Often this takes shape in the form of a DUI or DWI, sometimes domestic violence allegations and sometimes issues dealing with alleged child abuse or protective orders. While these areas touch family law, they are not within my specialty. It is invaluable to have respected, compassionate, skilled and wise criminal counsel on hand for clients who find themselves in crisis. Virgina is all of these things and more and I am thankful to have her as a colleague and friend. My clients who have needed her counsel have been grateful. It is without hesitation that I recommend Virginia."
