Great Criminal Defense Attorney

Thomas Braniff is a smart guy with a great amount of experience in the judicial system. His experience working for Travis County DA showed greatly. With his help I was able to get my false allegation dropped greatly to minor charges. I highly recommend him to anyone I know who needs a lawyer. He ...keeps the client up to date on even the smallest details of the case. He is always on time and goes the extra distance to take of care of getting your case reduced to the lowest charge or dropped entirely. The relationship is better than the typical client-lawyer relationship and it shows in his work even after the court case. He still keeps me updated and responds very quickly with questions I have about court requirements. Highly recommend to anyone needing a defense attorney/dwi-dui attorney.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I endorse Rhett Braniff. I tried a murder case with Rhett where we won a "not guilty" verdict from the jury. Rhett did an outstanding job of convincing the jury that our client acted in self defense. His cross-examination of the prosecution's star witness completely discredited her account of the incident. I highly recommend choosing Rhett Braniff if you need a criminal defense attorney in the Austin area."

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I have known Rhett Braniff for several years. I first met Mr. Braniff when he was a prosecutor in the Travis County District Attorney's Office. He was always thorough and well prepared. I looked forward to working with him on cases, because I knew that he would seek a fair result. Since he left the District Attorney's Office, I have observed him handle many complicated legal cases. I have seen him get good results for his clients both through negotiation and at trial. I would not hesitate to recommend him for your legal needs."

Relationship: Co-worker

"Rhett and I met on opposite sides of a felony trial, while he was still prosecuting for the Travis County DA. He was professional and personable, which served him well when he decided to enter private practice defending individuals against the government. As his law partner, I have repeatedly seen his meticulous preparation, dedication to his clients, and personal investment in his practice. I would trust him with my own (hypothetical) case, and that's saying a lot. More than anything, Rhett excels in the ability to just talk to people, it's really simple as that."

  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
