Bob Schmidt, is a plaintiff only employment attorney in the state of Texas. If ever there were a crap job in the legal profession, Bob's is IT! Bob Schmidt is knowledgeable, honest, personable and even friendly while being tough as nails. He's in a role that is - to put it plainly - thankless and tha...t stacks the deck against him and his clients as a matter of default status. The state of TX makes it difficult for the employed (or recently unemployed) to hold employers accountable for their wrongdoings and misconduct, primarily because it's a state that openly and unapologetically values providing an environment most suitable and most attractive to corporate interests. Texas essentially tells businesses to, "move your company here, because it's a corporate free-for-all and responsibility to the employed is not what we're about, so feel secure to know you have no accountability when it comes to the cogs in your corporate wheel; the pawns on your corporate chess board." In spite of this, Bob Schmidt shows up every day to work on behalf of the people that Texas and its corporate buddies would just as soon cast aside as if they weren't real people at all. Bob not only shows up, but he comes to fight - but with an approachable disposition and warm demeanor. I liked him personally, but could tell that he wouldn't be pushed around by even the biggest corporate juggernaut. Within 15 minutes of meeting Bob, I knew that I had happened upon a great decision. And interestingly, it was only after I had met with him initially that I heard several glowing recommendations from his peers working in Austin as employment attorneys. It was only after our initial meeting, as well, that Bob continued to be accessible to me (as he promised in the initial consultation) and provide me with expert counsel, without requiring additional payment. All this came in spite of the fact that his recommendation throughout was for me to look for a non-legal solution, which is ultimately what I obtained. Bob is an all around great guy and a fantastic attorney. I would recommend him to anyone who feels that "the man" has unjustly stuck to him or her in the workplace. He truly goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide excellent counsel.

Mr. Schmidt spent a good amount of time speaking to me and informing me of the entire process- what to expect, what they may say, etc. During the hearing, he asked a lot of questions to draw out the truth/facts of the matter from my previous employer. I liked that he kept me updated and returned my... calls and believed in my case. He also checked up on me- Bob really does care and at the same time he was all business with the handling of my case. Most of all, he took the stress away from this situation so I could focus my attention to other matters.
