The Best in Austin

Bob Raesz, Blake and Kris are the A-Team of family law in Central Texas. They handled my divorce that lasted for almost a year and were professional and supportive throughout the process. I have also referred many colleagues and friends to them and have never heard anything but positive feedback. You... may not always like the advice they give, but you should always follow it.

Couldn't have done a better job.

I have just ended a 4 year long child custody case because of this attorney. Bob was my 4th attorney in a string of lost hearings and misguided representation. It felt like no matter how promising or knowledgeable the attorneys I hired seemed, they could get no movement in my case and actually did ...more harm than good. I had full custody of my son since birth until just before his 1 yr old birthday. Blindsided by the opposing side in my original hearing in 2012 by a not so experienced attorney. We were going to court for what we thought was child support but turned into a full out custody war. I lost custody with only receiving standard possession with him having everything else, even had to pay child support. I put all my energy and money into getting justice for what had been done. I went though a string of attorneys. Bob had worked on a prior case I had heard about and was highly recommended by a friend. He did not disappoint nor did he give me false hope like the rest. He was very straight forward in what needed to be done and where we were in the case. We were "behind the 8 ball". He gave me information to study up and guided me every step. I had not felt this comfortable with any attorney I had met or I had hired. My first hearing with him, we were walking to the courthouse and a colleague of his remarked on how calm I seemed. My response was "I feel really confident in Bob and didn't fell nervous at all". We had a string of hearings together from that point on, he could not have been more professional with the judges, opposing side or my case. We had a very difficult attorney on the other side that my other attorney's failed to handle the correct way. There are definitely times where you will wonder what is going on your case and if your lawyer knows also. I trusted him every step of the way. Our final hearing was in October 2014, 3days. He was phenomenal in the courtroom, he knew when to push or back off the questioning. He did an amazing job with the witnesses, only asking questions that would help the judge see the whole picture. He kept facts to facts and did not let the little things that we all want courts to hear, but that they see irrelevant in. One thing that stuck with me was a conversation we had when I said "well whats our strategy?" He said "well were gonna win". Bob got me custody of my 3 year old son back before his 4th birthday. When I went and sat down with Bob I told him everything, I was in tears and felt like I had no options left and my only choice was to give up. I said to him if he couldn't help I had to give up, He sat there for a minute then responding with " That's not an option, if there was even a small chance he would win this for me" . That is exactly what he did. I do have to say Blake (his associate) and Kris (paralegal)were amazing in facilitating my case as well. You need amazing people behind you to be amazing also.

cool, calm, collected, & professional

I give Bob high marks because he has earned it. I am a single dad with full custody, not an easy task. His expertise and knowledge (was a judge and is well respected at the court house) has made all the difference in my daughter's and my life. He gets 99% of the job done in his opening statements. My... divorce/custody case has taken 2 years due to my ex. Bob has been there every step of the way. If you think you are in for a tough battle, don't waste time money and your future... Go with Bob. His staff is phenomenal. I receive emails promptly containing every document, correspondence, and question. I cannot tell you how vitally important it is to be in the know when your life is in upheaval. Wish the $ went to my daughters college education, but worth every penny. I had an up hill battle the whole way, and yet he came through with integrity and perseverance. Added bonus: his office is walking distance from the Travis county court house. I only mention this because my ex was late to one court date due to parking..... Judges don't like that.

Mistaken about Bob

Not very efficient with time spent on depositions and handling of mediation. His board certified paralegal really screwed up the final draft. Not much effort in courtroom either. Totally forgot to ask for return and division of personal items. Unprepared to cross examine witnesses. I was very disappo...inted in total performance. Not a good trial lawyer. Waste of money in my case. Have an appeal prepared to file if you go with him.

Excellent NO nonsense attorney

I'm a licensed Private Investigator in the state of Texas. We have several attorneys we refer clients to. Bob is always first on the list, for several reasons. He is extremely experienced, and thorough. The thing I like the best about him is he doesn't drag stuff out longer than it need to be just to... rack up fees. Oh, how many Austin lawyers do that. (you know who you are) It should be criminal to drag out the most painful event in people's lives, but it's done all the time... almost an unspoken agreement between attorneys. I refer to Bob because although he may not be the most inexpensive in town, he is one of the best and ends up costing less in the end.
