Top Notch Attorney

Bob is a straight shooter and a good man to have on your side. Thankfully we settled in mediation for 50/50 custody and looking back I wish I had been more aggressive as Bob advised on the child support and financial aspects but that's my fault not his. He was a rock in the mediation room and thoug...h we didn't have to go to a courtroom I have first-hand accounts from others that he's a fine litigator. He's very fair with his billing, farming out the more time-consuming aspects of documentation, financial spreadsheets etc to Blake at a lower rate. My total fees were less than half of my ex's despite hers being nominally a lower hourly rate than Bob. Highly recommended.

Best Father Friendly Attorney in Austin!!

I have been a client of Mr. Raesz since 2007 when I came to him as a father, getting divorced and desperately seeking to not lose my young daughter. I had interviewed several attorneys in the area who all seemed to think they could get me an “every other weekend parenting time agreement”. They all ...seemed to have a standard price and any “fight” would be a tough and costly endeavor. This was terrifying to me. Just when I was about to give up hope and succumb to such a horrible scenario, a friend advised me to speak with Bob Raesz. Well…that is probably the single best piece of advice I have ever received - EVER! Bob brought me into his office and took the time to understand my situation. He seemed knowledgable as he laid out options and outcomes. In the end, Bob managed to get me everything I had wanted without going to court. He stuck with me through a 9 hour marathon mediation session that drug out well into the late evening…refusing to give in the entire time. He knew what the likely outcome would be in a court room and he accepted nothing less. I ended up with a mediated settlement agreement that offered me a reduced Child Support obligation (that was fairly based on incomes vs the Texas default amount) and I received a true 50/50 parenting time schedule with my 5 year old daughter. I could not have been happier. Mr. Raesz has continued to represent me through two modifications and several unofficial conflicts with my ex-wife. He successfully helped me modify geographic restrictions to allow for better schooling opportunities and quality of life for my child. Last year he was able to assist me in gaining full-custody of my now 14 year old daughter, reversing Child Support and allowing me to secure the exclusive right to make educational and medical decisions for my daughter, and he was able to get me a portion of my attorneys fees repaid by my ex-wife. Mr. Raesz is a father friendly attorney. I know he represents both sides, but I also know firsthand that he is very successful where others fall short. He is aggressive in and out of court and truly fights for his clients (me). He and his staff are readily available and have held my hand from my green-newbie beginnings, through to becoming the seasoned fighter I am today. Bob’s billing practices are more than fair…once I spent 2 hours in his office and was only billed for a single hour because we spent half that time talking about motorcycles, kids, or whatever. This practice has continued since my first meeting with him. I have recommended several of my friends to Bob that have experienced equally successful outcomes. I would not hesitate to recommend him again. It’s unfortunate that I have needed to have an attorney for this amount of time, but the silver lining is that I truly consider Bob a personal friend. He and his team have made my annual X-mas gift list!

cool, calm, collected, & professional

I give Bob high marks because he has earned it. I am a single dad with full custody, not an easy task. His expertise and knowledge (was a judge and is well respected at the court house) has made all the difference in my daughter's and my life. He gets 99% of the job done in his opening statements. My... divorce/custody case has taken 2 years due to my ex. Bob has been there every step of the way. If you think you are in for a tough battle, don't waste time money and your future... Go with Bob. His staff is phenomenal. I receive emails promptly containing every document, correspondence, and question. I cannot tell you how vitally important it is to be in the know when your life is in upheaval. Wish the $ went to my daughters college education, but worth every penny. I had an up hill battle the whole way, and yet he came through with integrity and perseverance. Added bonus: his office is walking distance from the Travis county court house. I only mention this because my ex was late to one court date due to parking..... Judges don't like that.

Mistaken about Bob

Not very efficient with time spent on depositions and handling of mediation. His board certified paralegal really screwed up the final draft. Not much effort in courtroom either. Totally forgot to ask for return and division of personal items. Unprepared to cross examine witnesses. I was very disappo...inted in total performance. Not a good trial lawyer. Waste of money in my case. Have an appeal prepared to file if you go with him.

Excellent NO nonsense attorney

I'm a licensed Private Investigator in the state of Texas. We have several attorneys we refer clients to. Bob is always first on the list, for several reasons. He is extremely experienced, and thorough. The thing I like the best about him is he doesn't drag stuff out longer than it need to be just to... rack up fees. Oh, how many Austin lawyers do that. (you know who you are) It should be criminal to drag out the most painful event in people's lives, but it's done all the time... almost an unspoken agreement between attorneys. I refer to Bob because although he may not be the most inexpensive in town, he is one of the best and ends up costing less in the end.
