I unfortunately got arrested for my 2nd DWI and it was within 5 years of my 1st which is mandatory jail time in the state of Texas. Super scary! I was originally using another attorney who was totally dropping the ball, so I was referred to Michelle Mays. She was an absolute blessing! You would think... there would be some delays or hick-ups since she was brought in the middle of my case, but that wasn’t the situation at all. She didn’t skip a beat! My case actually moved along quicker and more seamlessly immediately after hiring her. She actually had my DWI reduced so that it only shows a first DWI offense on my record. This meant ZERO JAIL TIME! Furthermore, I was in a bad accident a couple years ago so she was able to have ALL MY FINES REMOVED! Which saved me thousands of dollars! She is so personable with not only her client, but with all the court officers and personnel. You can tell she has developed strong relationships with all the judges and prosecutors which is probably why she can negotiate so well with them. It seemed like they really trusted her judgement, and believed in her clients as much as she does. (And let me tell you, she will be your biggest fan and advocate for you til the end!) I hope I never have to use her again, but god forbid, if I do ever get in trouble again, she will be with a doubt my first call! Don’t make the mistake I did at first and hire someone else. Michelle Mays is experienced, detail-oriented, and a tough negotiator. Here is my story to back up those claims. Shortly after being arrested for DWI, I contacted Michelle. She put me at ease as she patiently explained what I was about to endure -- the waiting, uncertainty, hearings, and yes, possibl...e legal consequences. She prescribed proactive steps for me to take that almost immediately restored at least some of the control I had surrendered over the past days. As we built my case together over the coming months, she was in frequent communication with me. Looking back I think she learned quickly how to interact with me to make me feel comfortable and in control of my fate; she always she kept me up to date on the case and, at my request, did not spare any details, even if that meant we would be on the phone for the better part of an hour. I learned to trust her advice. It was a smart bet. I was a borderline DWI case, meaning my BAC was right around the legal limit, but in large part thanks to Michelle, my case was dismissed. I held onto my driver’s license without a single day of suspension. She worked out a very favorable deal with the Travis County DA’s office. In the future I will be able to completely expunge this incident from my record and move on my with life. Michelle’s persistence and hard work made so much of that possible.

As with most legal matters mine starts with "it's a long story" so I'll spare you the details and give it to you straight...I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Michelle Mays! After a 3 and a half year nightmare of a dwi case and 3 attorneys to whom I paid THOUSANDS of dollars to,... I found myself abandoned by my attorney, who's laughing all the way to the bank about right now, because I was late on my final payment because I lost my job last month.
