Brad, did so well for us. If I was ever in a bind again I would 1000% call Brad again. No one will fight harder than him for your case. Super smart and very through. He should be your very first call.

Case Dismissed
I am grateful to have Mr. Vinson represent me. Mr. Vinson focused on the truth and details I provided him and he examined the evidence from prosecution. Brad encouraged me to stay positive and focus on my job while he did his job. He always kept me informed and the outcome was exactly what our goal.

Outstanding representation; case dismissed
Brad handled my case with professionalism and respect. He consistently and promptly responded to all questions and concerns, developed an effective strategy, and negotiated successfully with the judge, achieving dismissal of my case. I certainly would hire him again.

Fantastic Attorney = Fantastic Results
I hired Brad Vinson to handle a legal matter and I could not have made a better decision! Brad was attentive, listened to the facts of the case, and strategized a plan that would lead to the best result possible. Brad was communicative, available, and ultimately delivered on what he stated he would do. During this process, there were no unexpected hiccups because Brad understands the law, and understands how to defend his clients. There is no doubt that I would recommend Brad and the whole team at Smith & Vinson to represent any individual that needs legal representation. The whole team is fantastic, and delivers fantastic results.

Professional representation at its best!
First and foremost, I would like to thank Brad and Jarrod for handling my case. Both of these men represented with much professionalism and didn't at all treat me like a criminal. At times I was skeptical since I was facing so much uncertainty. Both men obviously could not predict the outcome of things, but assured me that they will work hard for me. They sure kept their promise on that! Both men took the time to get to know me and my situation before designing a plan to represent me. When I was in doubt with much fear they reassured me that "things will be all right". I am grateful for the representation both men have provided me and without hesitation I would speak volumes of their service. Thank you so much!

Real Justice
A civil issue arose in Austin with a family member. We sought the advice of a well named Austin attorney. This unnamed attorney provided egregious legal advice. In court, a lifetime civil injunction was ruled by the judge on this non-criminal civil issue. Once learning of this judgement we immediately started looking for another attorney and found Brad Vinson, with Smith and Vinson. Simply put, Brad had this entire debacle reversed and a new judgement set for what is customarily ruled in similar cases. It didn't take long either. I only wish we had called Brad first. He's a real lawyer!

Due Diligence and Passion
Brad is such a joy to work with. I have consulted with Brad on many criminal issues in the past. He dedicates due diligence and passion to every element of each issue. He likes to see that defendants are treated fairly and does everything in his power to arrive at the best possible resolution. Anyone that has Brad on their side can take comfort in knowing that all avenues to good solution will be exhausted.

Regret Hiring
Brad Vinson did a bad job on the case he was hired to do and we ended up terminating him. He didn’t communicate effectively. He didn’t negotiate, he missed hearings, he didn’t do what was requested of him and he didn’t do what he agreed to do when he took on the case. He became ineffective council. . We had to contact the state bar association to find out how to terminate and retain another council. Huge waste of time. Huge mistake!

Response from James Vinson August 21, 2022
A copy and pasted review from google that this user deleted. Our firm was not terminated, we filed a motion to withdraw which was granted by the judge. The client failed to communicate with our firm multiple times and was hostile towards our staff multiple times. The client's mother would not allow their adult son to make decisions regarding his representation. It's unfortunate that we had excellent opportunities to help the client but the client and their family refused to work with our firm. We always put our clients first and fight for them. Our results and other reviews speak for themselves. We wish them the best.

Litigation Attorney | Nov 04
Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
"I highly recommend Brad as a litigator in Austin and he's my go to attorney for Criminal Law, DUI/DWI and any Criminal Law related matter. He also handles a variety of other litigation matters if he feels like he can help a client receive a positive outcome. Not only is Brad highly competent in regards to his substantive and procedural knowledge of the law, but he has extremely strong personal skills and is ethical, which are very important qualities for an attorney to have during negotiations with the opposing party, a District Attorney, and in a courtroom before a judge. He can resonate with his client's situation, is objective, and listens very well, which are rare traits and not demonstrated by many attorneys I meet. If you need a litigator in Austin and want to work with someone who really cares about making a difference then you should highly consider hiring Brad to represent you."

I first met Brad when he was revitalizing the criminal law society. He and Jarrod established a venue where upcoming criminal law attorneys could share their knowledge and enthusiasm. Also, he wrote his graduating paper on expert testimony in criminal law. I know Brad will prove a knowledgeable advocate for whoever hires him."
