Lori Ann Watson

I am so thankful I hired Lori Watson to handle my divorce after 18 years of marriage. What should have taken a few months, took over a year to finalize. I trusted Ms. Watson to give me good counsel and to fight for my interests and my children's interests, especially since I have a severely disabled child. She told me that going to mediation would be the best option. At mediation, my x-husband's attorney ran the show, and Ms. Watson literally never... fought for a single thing that we had previously discussed. One of the things I wanted was to remain in the house for as long as I could, possibly 6 years until my youngest graduated from high school, before I had to pay out half of the value of the house to my X or sell. Instead, she worked against me trying to convince me that I should just try to get a loan and pay him out in 18 months even though she knew I had a 2 year old bankruptcy. My kids and I would have ended up on the streets in 18 months if I had listened to her. I ended up having to hold my ground as best as I could on my own to get 4 years, but not without Ms. Watson allowing the other side to take away part of my standard child support for those 4 years. What was in the best interest of my children and my ability to provide for them was never even brought up. I was convinced to sign off on everything at mediation, so I never even had a chance to go before a reasonable judge. I received the worst representation ever, and I would not recommend Ms. Watson to anyone.

Divorce is a tricky thing and you don’t want to go it alone. Between the confusion of forms, legal terms, misinformation and what can be an adversarial tensions you need someone there in your corner. Lori Watson is that person you want. She was very knowledgeable, listened to my situations, asked gr...eat questions I never thought of, and put together a game plan. She is excellent at communication using email or seeing me on short notice. Additionally, her staff is very professional and always worked to get me taken care of. All-in-all Lori made a trying time seem doable and reassured me that it would happen as easy as possible.

I was referred by my boss to contact Lori . Going through a divorce for the very first time , I didn't know what to expect or even how to start the process. I called to make a consultation , and got in to see her within a few days. We spent an hour talking and she listened and was very compassionate... to my situation. After about a week I put down my retainer fee and from that point forward she stayed in contact with me most of the time through emails and an occasional phone call. She was patient and walked me through things I didn't understand. Lori suggested a few things to me that would be beneficial to me and my kids throughout the divorce which I appreciated so much !! I will be using her if anything ever comes up in the future with my divorce case.
