We retained Amber Hinson's services to represent us in a termination of parental rights and subsequent adoption of a step-child proceeding. From our initial consultation, we KNEW that we hade made the right choice! Not only is Amber exceptionally knowledgeable of statutes, processes, etc, but she is ...also compassionate and approachable, qualities that are not always common when seeking representation. Do not misunderstand, though- she is at the top of her game and helped us through this incredibly long and convoluted process with grace. I could not possibly give her enough stars on this review.

My husband and I came in for a consultation on a Friday . Neither of us knowing the laws or how things go on this matter she sounded great! Almost too good to be true. She told us exactly what she would do as soon as we dropped the retainer. Monday we dropped off the retainer fee. Fast forward to ...Thursday, haven't heard anything yet. We knew it was a strong possibility the person we were seeking help with would be a problem that Friday. Wanted to make sure the restraining order was in place like she said it would be. No call back Thursday. Friday morning we called a few times then finally get a call back. All she had done was pick up some files from the attorney general. That's it! No restraining order and of course the person we were concerned with was there Friday. Oh and showed up to our home saturday. Great fun. Amber also said she was waiting on info that she needed from us...the same info she said she would handle at the initial consultation. We have a very time sensitive matter which she was well aware of. We visited another, reputable lawyer. 90 percent of every thing she told us would happen, can't! BY LAW! I don't know if she wasn't up to date, doesn't handle many of these cases or was just blowing hot smoke. Either way, if you are fighting to get custody of a child she is not the way to go. Maybe she is great with divorces where all parties agree but that's not what we were there for. I'm glad we found out early instead of wasting any more time. She did give us our retainer back in a timely manner, which I am great full for.
