High recommendation for Alfred Kay

I hired Mr. Kay to work on three separate law suits filed against me for the student loans of my deceased husband. Mr. Kay was helpful and stated realistic expectations. He was very patient with all my inquiries and professional and kind through all our communications. Mr. Kay won all three case...s! I am so grateful to have the burden of those hefty lawsuits lifted.

"Highly Recommended Attorney"

I met Alfred through my Texas Legal Protection plan after having picked the wrong attorney for my case when my ex-husband was keeping my children unless I went back to him. Although it was too late to change counsel I used Alfred to advise me on the work my present attorney was doing in my case afte...r dropping the first attorney. I wish Alfred was my first attorney on my case. I've never met an attorney that was as companionate and honest as him. He always was upfront with me and gave me an honest answer. He doesn't feed off of your emotions as many attorneys’ do during a divorce to rack up fees or drag out a case. He once met me at a downtown to attend a CLE class with me to learn more about my ex-husband's injuries he sustained in Iraq. He always found the time to return my calls and answer any of my questions. When my attorney didn't finish my case properly he drew up the paperwork to conclude my case. He is very knowledgeable in family law, data discovery, and debt.

Do not be fooled

I hired Mr. Kay to represent me in my divorce proceeding. I was referred to him by my legal insurance plan representative. I was immediately suspicious of him. He did not initially want to meet in person but rather wanted me to hire him over the phone sight unseen. Once I got to his office, which... was old and run-down, I understood why. He appeared disheveled. He was condescending to speak with. He would interrupt me when I tried to answer his questions. But he stated he could get results in my case far faster than any of the other attorneys I spoke with and was reasonably priced so I decided to gamble on him. Boy, was I in for a let down. Instead of settling my case promptly, he took my retainer and only occasionally contacted me to ask for more documents even though my case has been ongoing for almost a year now and he had access to months worth of documentation. He claimed to be a Georgetown lawyer but actually works on the other side of Austin and only occasionally makes his way to Georgetown. I believe he never had any intention of resolving my case in a timely manner and was instead dragging things out for personal financial gain. When I called him out for his lack of visible progress in my case, he got offended and quit my case.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I had the pleasure of serving as opposing counsel to Mr. Kay during a divorce case. The clients were very emotional and assets being divided were relatively high. This is usually a recipe for lengthy and expensive cases. Thanks to our mutual efforts, we were able to work out a great conclusion for our clients that kept much of their estate in tact without the need to pay high attorney fees. Mr. Kay was courteous and respectful to everyone, even when we didn't see eye to eye. I was so impressed with him that I have stayed in contact since that case and consider him an outstanding member of the Austin and Georgetown Legal Profession. I know to stay on my guard when he's the opposing attorney, but he is is very efficient and effective for his clients."
