I have spent nearly a decade practicing law, and my career has been shaped by a deep commitment to protecting children, supporting families, and advocating with both strength and compassion. Before co-founding Huckaby Hicks, PLLC, I served as an Assistant District Attorney in Hays County, where I represented the Department of Family and Protective Services in some of the most complex civil mediations, litigation matters, and jury trials.
During my time as a civil prosecutor, I prepared 17 cases for jury trial, tried 9 to verdict, and first-chaired more than half of them. I’ve gained hundreds of hours of courtroom experience in highly contested hearings and bench trials, written civil and criminal appeals, and provided trainings to CPS professionals, law enforcement, and guardian ad litems. Protecting children from abuse, neglect, and family violence—and helping the professionals who serve them—remains one of my highest priorities.
Before entering public service, I practiced at a premier family law firm in Austin, where I counseled clients through complex issues involving business valuations, substance abuse, protective orders, and high-conflict litigation.
As a founding partner of a female-owned and operated family law firm, I take a calculated, persistent, and thoughtful approach to each case. I understand the pressures of being both a parent and a businesswoman, and I bring that perspective to every client I represent. While every family and every legal matter is unique, I strive to provide clear guidance, practical solutions, and strong advocacy—whether through negotiation, mediation, or at trial.
My goal is always to move cases forward with integrity, preparation, and a steady commitment to the families who trust me with their most important matters.

Whitney Borgman Attorney at Law
I hired Whitney to respresent me in a very complicated divorce proceeding. My breath was taken away when Whitney presented her opening statement to the court, she must have impressed the whole court room in the way she presented my case , strangers in the court room were hugging me after listening ...
"I endorse this lawyer. Whitney is compassionate and also a force to be reckoned with. I've observed Whitney in Court and she is a tremendous asset for her clients."
"Whitney is an intelligent, passionate advocate who I would recommend to handle any family law matter."
"Whitney has proven herself to be tenacious in and out of the court room. I encourage you to take Whitney serious."
