Travis Carey Headley

Travis C. Headley received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Baylor University in 1996.  He graduated summa cum laude from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2001.  During law school, Travis served as Editor in Chief of the St. Mary’s Law Journal, Volume 32.  Travis also interned for the Honorable Emilio M. Garza, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in 1999.  After graduating from law school, he was the briefing attorney to Chief Justice Phil Hardberger of the Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio from 2001 to 2002. 

From 2002 to 2009, Travis worked as an associate at Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated, where he practiced a wide range of commercial litigation. In 2009, Travis opened The Headley Law Firm, P.C., where he practiced all areas of civil litigation.  In 2010, Travis joined Watts Guerra LLP where he focuses on civil appellate law, motion practice and trial support.  In 2010, Travis was chosen by Texas Monthly magazine as a Rising Star in the area of business litigation.

Travis is licensed to practice in the state courts of Texas and before the United States District Courts for the Western, Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association, where he served as the Young Lawyer/Law Student chairperson from 2007 to 2010.

Travis is also been active member of the community, serving on the Rebuilding Together San Antonio Board of Directors from 2002 to 2009 (Vice President 2005).  Rebuilding Together repairs homes for the low income, elderly and disabled of San Antonio.  Travis also has participated in the San Antonio Bar Association’s Community Justice Program in 2003, 2004 and 2008, providing pro bono legal services to those less fortunate.

Travis is married to his wife Lauren, and they have two young children, Jackson and Aurelia.
