Mark L. Medley

I cannot recommend Mark L. Medley highly enough for anyone in need of a family lawyer. When I was facing a complicated divorce and custody case, I was overwhelmed and worried about both the outcome and the potential costs. Mark completely exceeded my expectations on all fronts. What impressed me mos...t was his combination of professionalism and compassion. He took the time to thoroughly understand my situation and clearly explained all my options without using confusing legal jargon. Throughout the entire process, he was responsive to my questions and concerns, often responding to emails and calls the same day. Mark's expertise in family law was evident in how efficiently he handled my case. First time dealing a lawyer and Mr. Medley forever put a bad taste in my mouth for the legal profession. I approach Mr. Medley about my case to fight for standard visitation of my child because my ex lived in a different state. On the first visit he presented himself as a very knowledgeable professio...nal and assured me that I had a good case. Once the retainer money was handed over it all went down hill. Mr. Medley and his office failed to keep me inform about my case on multiple occasions. When you schedule a meeting with him @450/hr he always assures you things are ok but when they truly are not. Mr. Medley pushed for my case to go to court and did not even mentioned mediation as an option until I brought it up. I ended up settling on an agreement with my ex without mediation and no courtroom time. The retainer fee was 4500, after all was said and done and his office calculated the time used only a couple of hundred bucks was left from the retainer fee. And till this day i have not seen it. I contacted his office multiple time but they claim they are under construction and do not have access to my files. Please be warned this a VERY unprofessional lawfirm and and lawyer. I was better informed by my ex's laywer if that tells you something.

My case last from 2012 to 2017. It was very exhausting and awful, My ex husband and his wife tried effortlessly to cause my sons harm while my then current husband was dying from brain cancer. Note: My ex husband did not have a visitation order(on purpose). It was a long case, I was very emotional..., and Mr Medley was amazing.....he wont hold your hand BUT I promise if you see him in action in the courtroom he is AMAZING and his reputation follows him! I have a son with autism and he now has lifetime childsupport, my ex husband did not accomplish any items he set out to do.He has no visitation, and has to pay reinbursement of health insurance and half of all private school tuition. In full trial Mr Medley was able to pick apart his entire case! He is AMAZING. We did not start this case by any means....it was done to cause me harm...BUT Mr Medley made sure I was taken care of!! And compared to my ex-husbands attorney fees, Mr Medley was only 1/4th of the cost. I can not say enough wonderful things about Mark Medley. Let me add when the OAG finally enforced the excessive amounts of child support owed, my ex husband hired another pricey attorney who tried to tear me apart. I was told after the OAG hearing by multiple attorneys "Mark Medley trained you well"! I was able to stay calm and kept redirecting all the questions back to the matter at hand "Only child support"! Again, Mark Medley is AMAZING in trial in the courtroom....you would rather have him on your side than against him!!! Especially if you have a child with special needs!! I dont see the stars to rate him but definitely 5!

I was referred to Mark when my custody case and psychological study was delayed by my ex. We sat before just about every Judge before this ended, and in each instance it was clear that his experience and professionalism earned him the respect of the Judge and court staff. He and his staff work har...d and Mark is particularly skilled at managing the unexpected opportunities that come up on court- he took advantage of more than one critical opportunity to turn my case around. I achieved sole managing conservatorship which I hear is very rare. Mark was a true advocate and he allowed me to work along side him through a 5 day trial, handing him every record I could find to demonstrate our story was rooted in truth. The services were not cheap, but then again, you aren't looking for a bargain when you are fighting for your kids future happiness. Mark is also a good person with a sense of humor- you will need both if you are in a highly contested divorce.

So I promised an update so here it is! I retained Mark in Feb 2015 and we just finalized mediation today. In a mere 7 months, Mark reversed a terrible custody arrangement that had been in place for almost 5 years. He's truly the best money I have ever spent. He's aggressive and he is EXTREMELY knowle...dgeable!!! He is very well respected within his industry. Mark will shoot you straight about your case and he is reliable and trustworthy. He's amazing!!! He's truly the best attorney in San Antonio.
