Harold C. Zuflacht

After My Ex-Husband initiated Divorce papers, I talked to several attorneys who told me that with my husband being retired and me still employed, I would not be entitled to any of his retirement investments and could not receive any type of monetary settlement, then I found Harold, he assured me that... what I was being told was incorrect. Harold counseled me through a long 6-7 months of negotiations with my EX and his attorney, when I told Harold I only needed enough of a settlement to get into a small apartment and start my life over, Harold reminded me of what I had brought into the marriage and that my worth was more than what I was willing to settle for. With his knowledge of annuities and investments Harold was able to demonstrate to my Ex-Husband, and his attorney, that I was entitled to a large portion of his annuity investments. As soon as my Ex-husband and his team realized that Harold was correct they reluctantly agreed to a settlement, which thanks to Harold was substantially larger than what had been initially offered (or what I had been willing to accept). Harold is a true professional, he is always listening, always thinking on how better to serve, he is sympathetic and truly cares for his clients well being, his quiet unassuming manner quickly put me at ease while at the same time kept my Ex-husbands attorney guessing on what his intentions were for the case. He and his staff were always quick to answer all of my many questions, and never failed to return a call even if it was after working hours, I started this trek as a client of Harold’s and now am happy to consider him a friend. You can retain a cheaper attorney, but its my experience that “you get what you pay for”, in my case is a new home with no PMI, a relatively new vehicle with no payment, a nice emergency fund, and no outstanding debt in my name, everything I need to start my life over…. We hired Harold Zuflacht for our complicated child custody case. From the initial consultation all the way to the last conversation we had, he has been amazing. Harold prepared us for every scenario we could have been faced with in the court room. He and his staff (Kathy Shipley) always kept us in...formed and ready to go. He even helped us cut costs by giving me the opportunity to retrieve items needed for court myself. He took the time to get to know my husband and he actually cared for us, which helped him work with us to decide which course of action would be best. Harold is one of the most decorated attorneys I have ever known (he has a lot of accolades and accomplishments) - he basically invented how to practice family law - he is amazing. Being one himself, he knows all of the right people. We had to get involved with court psychologist and a family therapist and Harold put us in contact (and in the office) with the best of the best in each of their fields. He also knows his way around the court room and seemed to be well liked by all of the staff there - which boded well for us when we walked into a packed court house and were able to get a private room without a blink of an eye. He was even held in high regard by the judge we were assigned to! Apart from being an outstanding attorney, Harold Zuflacht is also an awesome man. He is a loving father and husband and you can tell that his work is very personal to him. You could tell that he really sympathized with our situation and truly wanted to help us, not just for the bottom line. I would recommend him to anyone and will definitely keep him in my rolodex in the event I need to hire him again. I could not have asked for a better attorney!

Harold did an incredible job in what was a truly difficult case. Not only did he handle my divorce in a timely manner, but was able to help me navigate through a very complex custody case. Throughout the case many experts witnesses were brought by the opposing side which was comprised of a total of 3... different attorneys. At every turn Harold was there, able to bring the experts on to our side, and in the end I have full custody of my two beautiful children. Harold Zuchflact represented me during my divorce as well as the subsequent custody battle for my two children. Harold took the time to speak to me outside the confines of legal representation to explain to me the importance of taking care of myself first, so that I could be in a position of strength... to properly care for my children. I cannot overstate Harold Zuflacht's knowledge of family law and his ability to perceive every possible legal outcome and appropriate plan of action. However one of the greatest services that Harold provided me is protecting me from myself. Too many times during the course of my divorce I would begin to fall victim to my soon to be ex spouse's sob stories and I would enter the all too familiar trap of wanting to "save" him as I had throughout the course of our marriage. His advice definitely took hold, for I was able to put both of my children through college and have never been happier. It meant so much to me, I even invited Harold to my wedding many years later, for without him I never could have reached this point in my life.
