I cannot adequately express my satisfaction with the work Mr. Braswell has done on my case and for me! He worked very quickly to expedite my divorce and child custody case, understood my circumstances as a Soldier, and spoke with me numerous times to keep me informed and to keep my case on track. Initially, I hired Mark to represent me in a divorce that I thought was going to be amicable. My ex and I negotiated division of property, spousal support, visitation-everything. My husband and I agreed that one of us (me) would hire one upstanding attorney that was not overpriced-someone who would... oversee the paperwork so we wouldn't divide $3M by using an on line service and not end up really legally divorced. My husband had also agreed to not divorce until we were married for 20 years because I am disabled and he wanted me to be eligible for Tricare as a former spouse. And then my husband got a girlfriend and all of that changed. When my ex hired his OWN attorney, things became even less amicable between myself and my ex. I thought I was sunk-My ex husband's attorney was on all sorts of billboards, radio ads, full page phone book ads, etc. My ex's attorney specialized in every kind of family and divorce law and was consulted on and had written opinions on the subject. Mark Braswell and his team were ready to take on this giant. Mark had me gather all types of medical, budget and financial information from the time I began to collect spousal support. He also had me collect past e-mails from my ex where he openly admitted inappropriate behavior. On the date of the mediation, Mark got me nearly DOUBLE the "reasonable" spousal maintenance cap that I would have if the case had gone to trial. There was a step-down amount over a period over years, but at the end of the step-down, I get $500 over the TX state cap, half of his military retirement, half of his military Thrift savings Plan, 2 houses, the ex pays my lawyer and mediation fees, my ex pay for visitation travel and for mediation. Mark coached me through my extreme fear of the negotiation process and had me fully ready and had me gather all of the necessary information in this David versus Goliath mediation. He always responded to any urgent situation that came up immediately and his office staff was sympathetic and caring. He was knowledgeable of the state laws and the ways my ex and his attorney could use loopholes, and he closed all of those doors. Mark did this by reading the opinions and articles written by his opponent, who incidentally, was screaming at the end of the mediation while Mark maintained his composure.

My grandmother once gave me the best compliment I have could ever receive. She called me sterling and said it was the greatest compliment you could ever give to someone of the highest moral character. As I do not consider myself to be sterling, I am continually striving to be sterling and perhaps on...e fine day I will achieve it. However, after she gave me the compliment, I contemplated her words. A lawyer’s job is not always glamorous. Along the same lines, I love justice, but most people do not want to see the wheels of justice move. Though the wheels of justice do move, great judges ensure that they do effectively, but they tend to move slowly, and with a lot of legal maneuvering along the way. If a rational and reasonable judge believes you have a case, they will ensure you will eventually get your day in court, but this process takes time and patience.
