Probate

Following the unexpected death of a friend, I consulted Carol to assist me with managing the estate and Probate. The complicated process was made easier and the staff walked me through the process to the final filing. During the grief process, it was comforting to have the professional guidance to ...manage the legal issues which resulted. We were so appreciative, that my wife and I have used Carol to put together our final Will and end of life documents. Now my family will have the benefit of a much smoother process when we die. Good Legal info - Billing trick

I did receive good info on Elder law pertaining to asset disposition and medicaid matters. What felt contrived was the billing. The admin on the phone said $350 for the consult and if you have work done then $1500. The consult was conducted and at end of hour, she printed a bill for $1500. When w...e said, we were there for the consult $350, we were told Oh! the admin was new and that was a misunderstanding, $1500, please. We asked does this include helping to file for Medicaid, No, she said, that's another $6,500. WOW! Elder care consult, $1500 - oh the perk, you can ask her follow on questions for the next 6 months.

I am so sorry for the misunderstanding about billing - I would be angry, too, if I thought there had been a bait and switch on the bill. Our long-term care consultation is indeed $1,500 and that includes six months for follow up questions because the information provided at the initial meeting can be a lot to process in just the meeting time. I recognize that's small consolation to you when your expectation was to pay only $350. To prevent this dissatisfaction from happening to others we will provide better training to our receptionist, although I recognize that, again, this doesn't help your situation. Please accept my apology for your bad experience; I hope you will allow us to continue to provide good elder law information by calling or emailing with additional questions. Sincerely, Carol
