A young, adult family member recently incurred several misdemeanors and a felony. We felt totally out of our area of knowledge in dealing with the situation so we contacted Joseph Esparza to assist us. He readily accepted the case and was very professional dealing with the police, ADA and with us. He helped us build an arguement that our family member had midigating circumstances anad deserved a second chance. He was able to secure a plea agreement where the felony was reduced to a misdemeanor and he obtained deferred adjudication after several meetings with the ADA. On the day we were to sign the plea agreement the ADA tried to change the agreement but Joseph worked with him to get it back to the original agreement. He never gave up and kept fighting for us. This process lasted for approximately nine months and during that entire period he was readily available to us to answer questions and help us deal with the legal and personal asspects of the circumstances. He went to each court appearance with us and represented us in a sterling manner. Without his assistance and guidance we would have been lost in the legal system and our family member would certainly have a felony conviction on their record to deal with the rest of their life. We cannot thank him enough!

I am an Army Combat Medic all thanks to Mr. Esparza!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
I graduated boot camp at the top of my class. I was given the certificate for expert shooter and top BRM in my company. I came to Fort Sam Houston for my AIT training. After I got here, it was time for holiday break. I went home to Louisiana to visit my family for Christmas and celebrate New Years! At the end of me and my wife’s trip there, we were invited by a friend to go to a party at one of his friend of a friend’s house. Confusing, I know. Me and my wife went. She is epileptic and wanted to drink so we spent the whole night attached at the hip. She drank beer and I had what is called “trash can punch”. I was not intoxicated and neither was she. We stayed there awhile just hanging out and having a good time. We left and the next day came to San Antonio. As soon as I got back to base they drug tested us (obviously). I was called out of class shortly after stating that I failed my uranalysis test. Words can not describe the feelings I was having. This was impossible. There was absolutely no way this could be. I was very honest with the sergeants in letting them know, yes, I drank (knowing it was against the rules) but never, not once, took drugs. Why would I intentionally jeopardize all my dreams for that. I was accused of consuming methamphetamines and amphetamines?
At first they still let me attend class till CID talked to me about it. I studied my butt off and got the grades to show it. I worked harder than I ever have, to show how bad I wanted this. I kept my spirits high and prayed every single day, many times. CID came and got me to interrogate me. They stated that I was not under arrest so I did not get a phone call but they help me for hours. I woke up at 2:30 am, had not eaten yet and was stuck in a cold room with nothing. They kept saying if you give a statement this will all go away and you can go back to class. I told them the truth and tried cooperating but the moment they asked, after several hours alone, to make a written statement, I felt God say NO. I asked for an attorney. I called my wife as soon as I possibly could and asked her to find the best. SHE DID!! Mr. Esparza got right to work! He requested all the paperwork and test results and when we got it back there was no shock the limit of drugs in my system showed that I must have been drugged. It was such a small amount and I was made aware that it could have been in the punch. I was mortified and felt so violated! I was a victim to this and Mr. Esparza fought for me! He spoke to all the sergeants and most agreed to write letters on my behalf! He was the perfect attorney. For weeks I had to sit on this drill pad and was taken out of class…my spirits were fading even though I did not let it show. The moment I got the verdict, “NOT GUILTY!!!!!” again I was speechless. Mr. Esparza and God saved me!!! I can not express how much this man has done for me and my career! He is the best and forever will he receive Christmas cards from me!! My career and dreams were in his hands and he did not disappoint me at all!! I can not express how much I recommend this attorney. He will not disappoint your and he will not fail you!! He is an angel sent from heaven. Mr. Esparza, I thank you from the bottom of heart and will never be able to express how grateful I am that you were my attorney and you were the one who stood beside me in this horrible situation. You are a friend of mine for life.

When an almost 20 year old case reared its ugly head, which threatened my employment and livelihood, Mr. Esparza took control and completed the thorough research relevant to my concern. He composed the necessary documents and written responses needed to resolve my issue. Additionally, he proceeded to have my prior case formally expunged from all records so I would not have to worry about dealing with this issue again in the future. His attention to detail was extraordinary, his communications with me were professional and courteous and his efficiency with my case was a welcomed relief.

I am writing this review for my attorney Joseph Esparza. I am a United States military service member and was on the verge on being administratively separated from the military when I had first contacted Mr. Esparza. I will admit that I was a little skeptical when I first contacted him not because of his knowledge as a lawyer, but because I had thought that the predicament I was in was an open-shut case.
He was very helpful and very reassuring throughout my whole ordeal. Also, his knowledge in military law was a huge plus. He informed me of my rights and explained them in great detail that I wouldn't have even glanced over if I had not contacted him.
He had advised me to have a board hearing to keep me in the military. After getting all the paperwork and necessary documents to support my defense, we had waited for my board date.
The board date had finally came, and after all the anticipation and anxiety, it was decided that I would be reinstated in the military! A huge relief off my shoulders and there is no one that was more happy for me than Mr. Esparza.
I definitely would have not had the opportunity, nor be in the position that I am in now if I had not hired him to speak on my behalf. I would absolutely recommend him as an attorney.
He is a very honest and knowledgable man. He is also very approachable and was always asking me what I wanted to be the outcome in my case.

Mr. Esparza represented me during my court martial after I had been charged with sexual assault. I was terrified my life was going to be taken away from me, these were serious charges and I facing serious charges, confinement, and having to register as a sex offender. I knew the accusation was false and I needed someone to fight for me. After talking to Mr. Esparza he reassured me everything was going to be OK and won the case with a "Not Guilty". There were a lot of witness interviews in this case and Mr. Esparza worked hard day and night to uncover inconsistencies in the witnesses testimonies. He knows what he is doing, he's very professional, and very wise in the court of law. I would recommend Mr. Esparza to anyone because he is simply The Best. The results speak for themselves because I am NOT GUILTY!!

Mr. Esparza was recommended to me after a year and a half of dealing with another attorney. My son was facing very serious criminal charges that would dramatically impact the rest of his life . After making the decision to work with him he was able to seamlessly step in and move forward with working on my son's case . I was previously told by my other attorney we had to take a plea deal. So when Mr. Esparza took over he was very professional, knowledgeable, and tenacious while working this case . He eventually achieved a full dismissal. I am very fortunate to have had him working my son's case and would recommend him too anyone in need of a excellent attorney. I can't put into words how pleased I am with the outcome and wish I would of came to him first. I highly recommend Joseph Esparza !

I am an active duty officer and I also work in law enforcement. I live in a large city and I frequently walk or take public transportation any time I go for drinks with friends. A few months ago, I was visiting a small rural community, and it was nice weather so I walked to a local restaurant and I visited with a few local people as we had a few drinks. Upon my walk back home, the city police saw me walking along the street and an officer stopped me and roughly hand cuffed me (left bruises for several days). He placed me in the back of a police car and I had to spent the night in jail. The following morning, I was "processed" with fingerprints, mug shots, and I had to go before the Magistrate Judge and I was ticketed for public intoxication. They kept telling me that this is the lowest of offenses, the equivalent to a traffic ticket. Due to the nature of my job, and the fact that I am in a public trust position and my job requires me to go into jails on a regular basis, a clean security clearance is required.
I chose Mr. Esparza, due to his understanding of the military system, and he understands the relevance of having accusations that could be considered unbecoming of an officer. He diligently worked for several months, and eventually was afforded the opportunity to meet with the city prosecutor. Between the two of them, they unearthed several inconsistencies in my case and the prosecutor was, "alarmed" at some of the things that Mr. Esparza found in my complaint that was incorrect. At the end of their meeting, the prosecutor met with the Judge and made the recommendation to totally discharge my case.
I read some of these other reviews, and my experience with Mr. Esparza was the same. He was available anytime I called. His office staff was also very friendly and helpful. I am very appreciative of Mr. Esparza's persistence and expertise.

When my husband was charged with an Article 15 and a separation board after having an outstanding 6 years with the Navy, my husband got in trouble for using work out supplements that contained amphetamines. I was terrified that my husband would lose his career and I immediately found Esparza through amazing reviews and they couldn't be any more right. As soon as we met with him he was very knowledgeable and responsive to all of our needs. He always informed us of everything that was happening before the separation board. Mr. Esparza worked really hard to put the best defense case for my husband that resulted in him saving his career and benefits that he earned serving almost 7 years. The separation board voted no misconduct and Mr. Esparza was able to retain him in the Navy. He has by far exceeded our expectations. I will recommend him to all my colleagues and friends. Thank You a million times Mr. Esparza.

I contacted Mr. Esparza initially when I was accused for a case of sexual assault. Mr. Esparza represented me through out the time period for my case that led to a general court martial. Mr. Esparza’s dedication to my case and his legal knowledge are particularly noteworthy. He consulted and rightfully guided me at every step of my case. He excels in the field of military law and forms a great working relationship with his client. Thanks to Mr. Esparza, my case led to a complete acquittal of all charges at the general court martial. This was only possible because of the combination of his knowledge, his experience, his commitment and dedication to my case leading to the desired outcome. I highly recommend Joseph Esparza.

Mr. Esparza represented my son in a court martial for various charges violating military law. He handled the case in a timely and professional manner, proving that the charges were false and vindictive. Charges were dropped, clearing my son to continue a life befitting a combat veteran.
